~COLLEGE~
I enjoyed my time studying at UCLA. There are times that I'm feeling homesick, but Nathan is to the rescue. He would always video call me. We would text each other. But one thing made me so impressed with Nathan. Whenever it was our examination, Nathan would take his leave from work and help me with studying. He did take the tutoring seriously, even my payment of his services *wink wink*. But no matter how horny Nathan is, he and I have never made another step in that phase since, I wanted to focus on my studies and I am still not ready for that to escalate, Nathan is very respectful of my decisions and he said that it's a very matured thinking.
Regardless of our situation, there are times we would argue. No matter how serious the fight was, one of us would let our guard down and begin to show affection to one another.
Nathan showed me how a mature relationship works. All I knew was my exes leaving me either to catch them cheating, lying, or faking the relationship. However, Nathan was none of them. He taught me how to love myself, prioritize myself, and give time to our relationship and him. I never thought that I would be handling this kind of serious relationship. Truth be told, these past years with Nathan were the best years of my life.
4 years into College went by fast and now I am stepping into the last stage of College. The Graduation. Everyone came and saw my graduation. Even Nathan is here, finally no boundaries, no one to care about our relationship, only us who cares.
After the ceremony, I went to my family and hugged them first before showing Nathan my affection. He twirls us around while we're hugging. He landed me on the ground and gave my lips a passionate kiss.
"Congratulations, love." He said.
"Thank you, love. Without your help, I couldn't have done it. So, thank you for your tutoring." I winked at him.
"Every tutoring was all worth it."
"While we're here in LA, let's go and have some fun!" Dad said and we cheered. Dad rented a family van and we all entered the van. Dad brought us first to the restaurant to have our lunch. Surprisingly enough, they weren't tired since they got off from their flight and went straight to my graduation event.
After lunch, I brought them to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I did tour them around LA since I've been living here for the past 4 years.
When it was almost sunset, we drove to Santa Monica Pier. Everybody changed into their summer outfit. I didn't plan on swimming, so I wore a sundress to make myself comfortable. I saw Nathan wearing a black polo shirt, brown shorts, and his sunglasses on. Nathan and I walked near the shoreline, letting us feel the breeze and see the sunset better. My family is a few feet behind us. I felt Nathan hugged me from behind, snaking his arms around my waist and his chin resting on my shoulder. I smiled at the feeling of being relaxed and safe whenever I was in his arms.
"You know, the distance that we've had these 4 years made our love grow so much stronger." Nathan said.
"It did. At first, I didn't know what to feel since I was so lost without you, and we were far away from each other, with different responsibilities. But, I'm glad we made it through."
"Yeah, we did. I'm proud of us, to be honest."
"I know, me too." Suddenly, he broke the hug and we continued watching the view of the sunset.
"The view is spectacular." I said.
"I know, and I have a gorgeous view." He said. Just then, I heard some gasps and squeals from behind me. I looked behind and saw Nathan kneeling on his one knee beside me, with an opened ring box, inside was a big diamond ring in a silver band. I gasped while covering my mouth. Tears began to fill my eyes and I smiled big. Nathan smiled and chuckled nervously as he looked up at me.
"Love..." He began nervously. "Remember what I told you 4 years ago when we were in my kitchen, you were cooking lunch for the two of us. I remember telling you that I would marry you after all your responsibilities in school. Guess what, I'm fulfilling my promise to you." He said and I began to sob loudly and chuckled while wiping my tears.
"You made me strong, you made me alive, you made me believe in love at first sight. I never knew that you would give us a chance despite all the challenges that we faced. But now we're together, I am ready to face the world and scream at the top of my lungs that I am in love with you, Y/N Y/L/N. Love, I need you, I love you, and I breathe for you. It would make me the happiest man in the world if you would be mine forever. Y/N Y/L/N, will you marry me? You will make me the happiest man ever. Will you marry me?"
"Yes, Nathan. Yes!!" I cheered loudly. He stood and hugged me tightly to him. We heard some cheering in the background and saw my family and some strangers cheering as well. Nathan removed the ring from the box and he shakily slid the ring in my hand. As soon as the ring sat on my finger, Nathan and I admired the shining ring and he kissed the top of my hand.
"Finally, I've been keeping this for the last 4 years." Nathan said.
"Wait what?!" I asked shockingly.
"Yeah, since the day I said I'm gonna marry you someday, the next day I got your measurement while you were sleeping and bought the ring secretly."
"You're sneaky, Mr. Gardner."
"I'm glad you said yes, Mrs. Gardner."
"Do they know about your proposal plan?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I saw my family walking near us.
"Yes, while we're on the flight."
"You're sneaky, but I love you."
"I love you more." He pecked my lips and my family crowded us. They looked at the ring and they couldn't help but be in awe as they admired the ring. I'm getting married!!
