End Of Summer (6)
In September, as summer ends, Stella Academy's new term begins.
Unlike other magic schools, Stella's opening ceremony is held in the auditorium, not the playground, and it's equipped with temperature control magic, so there's no worry of collapsing from the heat.
Even the principal's speech is very brief.
"Work hard in the fall."
Just one sentence.
That was all.
"Ahem, ahem. Next, the vice-principal will..."
It was so brief that Vice-Principal Aki Hayden had to fill in the time. He had so much to say that he significantly raised the students' irritation levels with his prolonged speech.
"...It's starting again."
Eisel found herself getting used to Stella. Initially, she had entered the school with grand ambitions for her goals and spent her time in tight tension, but now she could afford to relax a little.
It felt like just yesterday she had started, but it was already the second semester. Perhaps it was because of the many intense incidents in the first semester of her first year and even the hectic summer vacation.
Time seems to have flown by.
"I need to study hard in the second semester too!"
This resolution of Eisel's was a part that once made Flame question, "Is this even realistic?" while reading the original romance fantasy novel.
Not everyone, but most ordinary high school students would probably think it's a hassle to study harder in the second semester.
Still, Flame was quite a diligent student herself, so from Baek Yuseol's perspective, they seemed quite abnormal.
"The opening ceremony is over."
After the ceremony, the students gathered in their respective classes.
First-year S-Class.
A place with significantly fewer students than other classes, filled with unique and genius students.
And here... was Baek Yuseol.
Unlike other classes, it was quiet and without any of the excitement that usually comes with the new term. In the midst of this silence, Baek Yuseol was lying on his desk taking a nap from the first day.
Eisel naturally sat in a seat diagonally behind him, not too far but not too close, just the perfect distance that didn't feel burdensome.
After a while, the back door of the classroom opened, and Hong Bi-Yeon entered. She first stared at Baek Yuseol lying down, then briefly made eye contact with Eisel before quickly turning her gaze away.
"What's with her..."
Since that day's incident, her animosity towards Adolevit had grown even stronger. However, there was something strange about Hong Bi-Yeon. She didn't particularly like or dislike her.
The front door of the classroom opened noisily, and Instructor Lee Hanwol of S-Class entered.
He scanned the classroom with his deep eyes, frowned at Baek Yuseol's seat, but then went to the podium as if it didn't matter.
"It's been a while. Some of you might have spent the summer vacation idly, but starting from the second semester, we will be engaging in actual combat training. As students of S-Class, I assume none of you did nothing."
