chapter 7: sparks fly in battle!

The international port town where magnificent boats gather from across the world, Y/n can be seen walking into a Pokemon center and walking towards the front counter.

"Welcome to our Pokemon center, would you like to heal your pokem back to perfect health?" Asked nurse Joy as Y/n put his pokemon in a tray,"Yes please." Said Y/n as he gave the tray to nurse Joy.

After a brief wait and boredly looking through his Pokedex, Nurse Joy returned Y/n's Pokemon fully healed. "Here you go, all better now," she said with a warm smile, handing back the PokeBalls.

"Thank you," Y/n replied gratefully, taking the his PokeBalls and attaches them to his belt,"well, well, well. If it isn't Y/n!" Y/n heard a fimiler voice as he turns around to see Gary standing their with a grin on his face.

"Yo, Gary! How's it been?" Asked Y/n as he approached his rival,"You know, just beat the gym here so pretty good!" As Gary as he shows Y/n 3 badges.

The boulder badge, cascade badge and one he didn't recognize,"Cool, I was just about to go challenge the gym myself. What type do they use?"

"Electric type so that Bulbasaurs will be pretty useful, wanna get something to eat?" Asked Gary as he and Y/n begin to walk.

"Heck yeah, but you're paying!" Said Y/n making Gary sigh,"Just like when we were kids."

At a restaurant Y/n is eating roman and Gary is eating a burger as Y/n's Ivysaur and Vulpix with Gary's Wartortle are out of their PokeBalls eating pokemon food.

"So, a Vulpix, where didn't you catch??" Asked Gary,"On viridian forest, why?." Said Y/n as he slurped his roman,"just asking"

"Where are you're cheerleaders? Thought they would have been with you." Said Y/n,"Oh, they just at the hotel." Said Gary as he took a bite from his burger.

"Oh, I ran into ash over at Cerulean and we had a battle." Said Y/n making.
"Did you win?"

"Yeah, it was though but I won in the end." Said Y/n as Vulpix jump onto his lap,"Vulpix Vulpix!" Said Vulpix as she tries to take a bite from Y/n's food.

"No Vulpix, you can't eat this. It'll make you sick." Said Y/n as he held the bowl away from Vulpix,
"Vulpix Vulpix vul pix!"

"It won't make me sick, I'm not a pokemon!" Said Y/n making Gary raise an eyebrow.

"You can understand him?" Asked Gary,"It's a girl and no not really, it's more like a fell what's she's saying."Said Y/n as she pat Oddish on the head,"Pix~"

"That's kinda weird, but now that you mentioned it... It kinda reminds me of something that me and Wartortle did." Said Gary as he looked at his partner pokemon.

Vulpix then jump onto the table and ran towards Gary sitting on his lap,
"Huh? Dude, what is you're Vulpix doing?" Asked Gary confused.

"She probably just likes you, don't worry about it." Said Y/n,"you're Vulpix better not burn my pants." Said Gary making Y/n roll his eyes.

"So Y/n, you got a girlfriend?" Asked Gary nearly making Y/n choke,"Huh?! Where did that come from?!" Asked
Y/n.

"Just curious, relax you don't need to get all work up about it." Said Gary as a silence falls onto the table for a few seconds.

"So, do you?"

"No Gary! We've only been on our journey for three months and constantly on the move! How would I get a girlfriend?" Asked Y/n.

"It's a yes or no question, don't get so worked up about it, it's not like you could even get a girl friend."

"What's that surpose to mean?" Asked Y/n,"I mean you're so ugly you're reflect ran away." Said Gary with a smirk.
