After landing on a nearby field, Y/n stepped off Articuno, feeling the familiar crunch of gravel underneath his feet.
"Thanks Articuno, return!" Thanked Y/n as he returned the freeze bird Pokemon back to it's PokeBall with a greatfull smile.
walking through the quiet streets of Pallet Town. It had been a long journey, traversing the vast Kanto region, battling Gym Leaders, and forming unbreakable bonds with his Pokemon team. Now, with all eight badges proudly displayed on his shirt, Y/n's heart raced with anticipation for the upcoming Indigo League.
Pallet Town hadn't changed much. The serene beauty of Professor Oak's laboratory greeted them, where Venusaur, their faithful companion since the beginning. As Y/n approached his childhood home, memories flooded back - climbing trees with ash and Gary, competing with his friends and dreaming of becoming a Pokémon Master.
The approach the front door to his house and he knocked a few times waiting for a response, the door swung open, revealing their mother's warm smile. "Welcome home, Y/n!" She said as he hugged Y/n.
Inside, the house was filled with the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal as Y/n walked in getting his by a sudden nostalgia making Y/n smile.
"I'm gonna make you're favorite romen to celebrate you coming back, you should go say hi to the professor too."
Y/n smiled warmly at his mother's gesture, feeling the warmth of home enveloping him like a familiar blanket. "Thanks, Mom. That sounds great," he replied with gratitude before heading out towards Professor Oak's laboratory.
The path to the lab was etched in his memory, each step invoking a sense of nostalgia and excitement. As he approached the familiar building, memories of picking his first Pokemon and embarking on his journey flooded back. The doors swung open effortlessly as he entered, greeted by the sight of Professor Oak surrounded by books and Pokemon research equipment.
"Ah, Y/n! Welcome back," Professor Oak exclaimed with a wide grin, setting down a stack of papers to greet the trainer. "I heard you've collected all eight badges. Congratulations! Your journey through Kanto must have been quite the adventure."
Y/n nodded enthusiastically, a proud smile spreading across his face. "It was, Professor. Battling Gym Leaders and exploring it's been incredible."
"Well, your journey is far from over, my boy," Professor Oak said sagely, gesturing towards a table where a Pokedex and a few PokeBalls lay neatly arranged. "Before you head to the Indigo League, I have something for you."
Curious, Y/n approached the table. "Is that...?"
"Yes, it's a special Pokedex upgrade," Professor Oak explained. "It includes data on Pokemon from across the regions, not just Kanto. Consider it a tool to aid you in your quest to become a Pokemon Master beyond these shores."
Y/n's eyes widened with excitement as he accepted the upgraded Pokedex. "Thank you so much, Professor Oak! I'll make good use of it."
With a heartfelt farewell and promises to visit again soon, Y/n left the laboratory, the weight of the upgraded Pokedex feeling significant in his hands. Outside, the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden hue over Pallet Town. As he walked back towards his home, thoughts of the Indigo League and the challenges ahead filled him with determination.
Entering the familiar surroundings of his house once more, Y/n found his mother setting the table with bowls of steaming ramen. The aroma brought back memories of countless meals shared after long days of training.
