C416 - Red snow- Part 1
The people who had been hiding behind the trees were none other than demons, who slowly made their way out of the trees as if they were waiting for someone.
"I must say, I am quite impressed, that you had people gathered in here because you lack the competence to fight all alone by yourself. But I doubt you have been waiting for me," said Jungkook, his red eyes taking in a quick sweep at the demons, who had pitch-black eyes, "As far as I know, you have been working for the crown."
Unlike Jungkook, Weasley didn't bother to smile, and he stared at the King who had used his hand to deflect his attack with ease. "I didn't know you had abilities yourself."
"One should always have tricks up their sleeves. You never know when it might be needed," the slow smile started to spread across his lips, before a dry laugh escaped his lips.
"I work for myself. You must know that by now," answered Weasley.
Jungkook hummed at the demon's words, "I thought it was little Lilith who had stolen the Hanima's chain, but it was you."
Weasley pulled out knives from his back, "Funny, isn't it? That the High House has so many people who don't work for the High House, but themselves."
"I would have to agree to that," came the calm words from Jungkook. "You will be quite surprised when you find the people in there, who are working and who aren't. Though I am curious to know who we're waiting for."
When Jungkook went to put his hand in his pocket, the people around him turned alert, waiting to strike at him. But he pulled out the handkerchief from his pocket. "No need to turn skittish, dear," he said to the demoness who crouched her back.
"He's more than what he has been showing you, Weasley!" spat one of the demons, who stood not too far away from the right side where Jungkook stood, "He has wings."
Weasley's eyes narrowed down at this information. Since the time he had been working for the High House, he had always found it to be strange that Jungkook arrived and left in a blink of an eye. Vampires had speed, but demons who were vampires had limitations, and they lacked the speed compared to normal vampires, while their abilities made up for the lack of quick mobility.
"Those are not just normal wings. They are different," said another demon.
"What are you, my King?" Weasley asked in a polite tone, waiting in anticipation, but instead of answering, Jungkook raised his hand to his face to yawn as if he was tired. "I know you, Jungkook Hawthrone. I have stayed by your side for so many years-"
Jungkook clicked his tongue as if he didn't like what he heard, "Stayed by my side? What are you? My wife?" He then ran his tongue over his teeth, "Let's just keep it at, that you were trying to get on the nicer side of me, while trying to frame Reginald to be involved in something more fisher, when in truth hiding what you were up to. Hm, let me guess. If not me...the next person you have been eyeing to get rid of is Dimitri. Unfortunately, it is. One would think that working in the High House for so many years, you would know how they work at a snail's pace."
"No hassle, my King. No hassle at all," replied Weasley, "There is still time for the next person to arrive, and we have plenty of time when it comes to dealing with you. It's not like some of us don't have wings." The demons who were standing around them sprouted bat-like wings on their back.
"Before we start," said Jungkook, walking in a circle to catch a note of every single demon who stood there, "I do have a question. Do you know where Samuel Grevile and a woman named Jennine are?"
