I'm just packing my things away since I'm leaving early today. Emily has me working shorter hours due to my pregnancy, and she covers most of my shifts. She usually complains that it feels like she lives at the studio, but for some reason, she seems to enjoy spending her time here now.

I know that it's her passion, but I do find the change really weird.

I rummage through the desk drawers, trying to find the paperwork that I need to give to my doctor. I spent most of yesterday answering questions about my birth plan, and in all honesty, it fills me with dread.

But, as I'm concentrating on that, I'm suddenly distracted when I see Richelle out of the corner of my eye...

"So... it's a deal?" I manage to hear her say.

Lily nods.

I watch closely as she talks to Lily, a mischievous grin on her face. Her hand then reaches out to grab hers, transferring over something to her. My face instantly drops when I realise what she's doing.

The packets of cocaine that I lost– it has to be that. This little conversation looks far from innocent, and I just have this sinking feeling that she's going behind my back.

My suspicions are confirmed when she turns her head, making direct eye contact with me, a smirk on her face.

I feel the instant rage fill my entire body. And if I weren't pregnant, her blood would be on my hands for what she's doing to me. She knows that I would be fucked if those drugs got to the wrong people. I mean, it only takes one kid to have a bad reaction, I'm identified as the dealer, and then I'm faced with a lengthy jail sentence.

I'm screwed.

Suddenly, my body jolts in shock as I hear Emily's voice from beside me.

"Are you alright?"

I try to remain calm, putting on a false smile. "Oh- uhm-. Sorry, I was just thinking."

Emily giggles, "You looked lost."

"Yeah, I- I was."

I then realise that I have to explain, "Sorry, I was actually just thinking about some stuff. You know, pregnancy, birth, pushing out a baby– that sort of stuff."

"Rather you than me." She says, "I feel for you."

"Yeah..." I giggle, nervously.

And then she brings up something I had totally forgotten about: "Speaking of babies... we really need to get this place prepared for the baby shower."

The baby shower... fuck!

She continues, "We only have two more days, and nothing's done! I mean, the balloons haven't even come; how ridiculous is that?! And I still need to figure out what to wear. Since my parents are coming-."
