The next morning everyone woke up at 8 AM. We had to be at the studio by 9. If you know me you know I'm not a morning person, this was news to Nathan. He woke up and started getting ready and about 15 minutes later he came back in my room to make sure I was awake...I wasn't; I had drifted back to sleep like I always do.
"BABE!" He yelled. I jumped and rolled over.
"Ughhhh. That is NOT how you wake someone up!" I yelled back at him rubbing my eyes.
"Someone's not a morning person." He chuckled. "Come on we have to leave in 30 minutes."
I rolled out of bed and stood there for a second. "It's so early." I said.
He just laughed. "You better get used to it. Just wait till we get on the road on a tour bus..." He said.
I grunted and made my way to the bathroom to get ready. When I was done I walked downstairs and all the boys were sitting in the living room waiting except for Nathan.
"Where is he?" I asked looking around.
"Still getting ready I suppose...we're always waiting on him." Max replied. I rolled my eyes, he was one of those boys. I ran back up the stairs two at a time. When I got to the last step I tripped and flew forward but Nathan was there to catch me.
"Whooaaa! You alright there?" He asked. "Aw you're blushing so much." He said stroking my cheek.
"Oh shut up. I'm embarrassed what do you expect?" I asked smacking his hand away. "I'm a huge clutz, get used to it." I said matter of factly. "What was taking you so long?"
"I was getting ready." He said putting his hands in his pockets.
"Jeez what do you do to get ready that takes that long?" I asked wide-eyed.
"Dunno. Just takes me a while." He started walking downstairs. "Do I need to hold your hand so you don't trip?" He asked me with a sarcastic tone.
"Shut it." I replied.
"Finally." Tom said when he saw us reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Let's go, we're running late." I said. I looked at Nathan with a smirk. We walked out the door and to the car. Once we were inside and driving I reminded the guys that even though I was a good friend, I was also in charge of taking care of them and making sure they got the job done. "So no goofing off in the studio you hear me?" I asked.
"Yes mom." Jay replied.
"Jay, I'm serious." And I was.
We got to the studio and stayed there for a solid 7 hours. The guys did a good job of cooperating for the most part. I had to remind them a couple times to stop horsing around but I was proud of them by the end of the day.
All I know is that watching Nathan record was really something. I couldn't wait to see him perform, I bet he's so energetic on stage; all of them probably are. Their first show was in a couple days so that was something to look forward to seeing.
Right when I got home my phone rang, it was Scooter.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Abbey. I just got a call from the studio and they said everything went great today." He said.
"Oh that's grea--" I started.
"But I'm sitting here looking at a picture in US Weekly of you and Nathan kissing in the ocean." He interrupted. "And another one of you holding hands at what looks like a carnival." He did not sound happy.
My heart skipped a beat and my eyes grew huge. I couldn't speak. My thoughts were nonexistent. Nathan gave me a puzzled look. I didn't think about what would happen if management found out about it, which I knew they would, I was only worried about what the rest of the world would think instead of the people in charge of my career. How could I have been so stupid?
