I hung up the phone and starting dancing around my apartment waiting for Steph to get home. I had just gotten some amazing news to tell her.

Stephanie is my best friend in the entire world. We've known each other since we were really little but she didn't become my best friend until my senior year of high school. We just moved into an apartment together after my graduation. I couldn't ask for a better roommate.

I recently graduated college with a management degree this past spring and have been in search for a job ever since. Steph and I both work in a tiny restaurant in this tiny town to get by with rent but now everything was about to change.

I heard her keys jingle and the lock turn and I bolted toward the door.

When the door opened I lunged. Steph stepped back with a shocked look on her face as I squealed and threw myself on her despite the fact that her hands were full of groceries. She stumbled and tried not to drop them.

"What the hell, what's happening?!"

"I GOT THE JOB IN LA! I GOT THE FUCKING JOB!" I couldn't believe this.

"HOLY SHIT. Oh my god, Abbey! That's amazing!" She was genuinely excited, and then her face fell and she looked sad.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"We just moved in together and now you have to go." She said as she put the groceries on the kitchen table.

"Uhhh bitch you're coming with me...Are you kidding me? I would never go to LA by myself, I'd get eaten alive.  And I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather go with!" I told her. Her face instantly lit back up. She almost looked like she was about to cry from excitement as she ran and hugged me.

"Oh my god I can't believe we're about to do this!"

“I KNOW!!!” I was literally in tears now. We hugged and jumped around the living room.

“When do we leave?” Steph asked once we had calmed down.

“Next Monday, and I start working that weekend. They gave me a couple days to get adjusted to the city and whatnot. The flight is paid for already.”

“Okay. So, first things first...we have to find a place to live.” She looked concerned.

“Don’t worry, they have a house in LA that they stay in when they come to the US and I have to move in with them...part of the job.”

“Oooh 5 boys and one girl living under one roof? How do you think you’ll do with that?” Steph asked playfully.

“Umm, you’re gonna be in the house too...” I said.

“No way...” She looked shocked but excited.

“Yup! It’s all taken care of.” I said, pleased.

“...holy shit.” Was all she could manage to get out. I don’t really think she could believe what was happening.

I had heard of this boyband “The Wanted” but I didn’t know much about them. I know that they’re british and that they have a couple songs on the radio that are quite catchy, but that’s about it. They didn’t give me any specifics about them during my interview. I guess I should do some research.

I opened up my laptop as Steph started putting the groceries away. I got on YouTube, searched “The Wanted,” and was genuinely surprised by how HOT these guys were. After watching a few videos I got a good impression of them. They’re hilarious and extrememly sweet to their fans. That made me feel better. Before, I was nervous that I’d have to manage this really uptight group of douche bags.

There are five of them. Nathan, Siva, Jay, Tom, and Max. Nathan was the youngest, looked like. He has a bit of a baby face, nonetheless extremely good looking. Max is a bit older, shaved head, but DAMN he was fine, and so funny! He tells tons of jokes. Siva, gorgeous. Tall, tan, very exotic looking, and he’s Irish. Tom is hilarious and has a SUPER thick accent--I was going to have to get used to that. Jay has curly hair, and a seriously crass personality. His laugh is contagious too.

After Steph finished with the groceries she came and watched some of their “Wanted Wednesday” videos with me. “OOOOOH. Who is THAT?!” She pointed to Jay on the screen.

I laughed. “That’s Jay...”

“Oh yeah. I’m DEFINITELY gonna have to meet him.” She said. “Mmm!”

“Hahaha! Of course. You’re going to meet all of them. Hopefully they become good friends of mine since this is a job that I plan to keep for a while. Plus I’m basically going to be living with them. And if they’re my friends, they’re your friends too.” I winked and closed my laptop. “We gotta start packing!”
