The dawning light through his window woke Grian up, who lazily stared up at the bright ball of pure light that had decided to grace him this morning. He sits up, ruffling large black wings and stretching. The view of the land was the same, rippling green hills just waiting to be explored. Perhaps he'd get past the large forest he'd found last week. Or he could work on his expanding knowledge of red stone.
It didn't really matter what he chose to do today, because he always had tomorrow. And tomorrow. Eternity, really.
That's just how it is, here. Even when faced with a never-ending life span, Grian still manages to spice up his days.
.. His stomach rumbles. Grian takes it as a sign to finally exit his bed, standing and shaking out wings that overshadowed his rather small stature completely. Trekking from the stairs to the main room, Grian distracted himself by pulling free loose feathers.
Let's see... what does he have in his pantry? Ooh, cake! Nice! He snatches a piece, hopping over the trap Jim set by his door ages ago and heading into the open. The arced entrance of the Empire looms over Grian as he looks up and grins at it, turning instead to climb his stone building up to the rail cart.
One well timed jump later, and Grian was off. The scenery zoomed by, taking Grian to the well-loved spawn of Evolution. It still stood, in all of the glory the others had left it in.
Before they.. well, er...
Left.
Yeah, sure, left.
The cart did its classic drop and turn, narrowly avoiding lava before finally arriving at the station. As his feet hit the stone of the symbol. Grian takes a second to admire all of the hardwork that was put into spawn. From the infamous Property Police to Netty's treehouse.
He drifts off to a corner where he'd taken to creating strange experiments, learning the many pathways of red stone in this illogical world. Even still, there's a familiar presence that appears as he works.
Ah, her.
Grian can already feel her snickering at his failure to complete what should be a simple circuit. ('Really, it's quite simple...' something says in the back of his mind)
"Imagine being human, hating your confusion!"
The voice is taunting, coming from what is probably above him. Maybe not. Who really knows, when what you're interacting with is invisible and could maybe not exist at all?
"Denying 'till it's proven, laughing at illusion.."
"Thinking institutions the solution, while tyranny and irony float in its pollution!"
Grian turns on the ghost, looking up at where she may be. If she exists. Look, when you hear strange creatures and you're alone, and have been alone for a long time, you start to doubt your sanity.
"Imagine reducing yourself to your name-"
"Xelqua, you've got no one else you can blame."
Grian can imagine she's gesturing to the empty scenery, devoid of the life and excitement that once filled it. Now a distant memory of the past.
"You've stuck all your conscience inside of your brain,"
He's still staring up at the spot where the weird demon entity thing is probably standing, moving his hands as he speaks.
