Grian's feet hit the ground. He's pacing.

He's been pacing for the last 15 minutes, an impatient dance with anxious waiting.

Over and over, he marks the same exact path in his floor, as he's always done to burn off nervous energy.

His path shifts. Grian takes a step onto his ornate balcony, overlooking the entire kingdom.

His kingdom.

It doesn't feel like it. It really doesn't. Afterall, is it really his if his family is marrying him off to whatever large man will probably beat him into submission?

Grian doesn't think so, atleast.

He leans down on the balcony, wrapping his wings around his shoulders in a self-soothing manner. His mother says he should stop doing a fledgling's coping method.

Grian doesn't care.

His mother doesn't care about him, anyway.

"It's just me, myself & I..."

He turns to look at his bedroom through the veils on his balcony's entrance. Smooth, stone floor and wonderful walls.

Unfurling his wings, he lets them hang off of the marble rail.

"Stuck in my bedroom, living in this world you left behind.."

His bedroom is modest. It's got everything it needs, the basic necessities.

Grian never cared to decorate further.

"Dreaming of all these monsters, that I'll never get to fight..."

He looks behind him, eyes dull and narrow.

There's a ship docking. Grian's gaze lands on the flag- it's the exact one he's memorized in the weeks of planning.

"But boy, I wish I could, so I could bring the world some light!"

Grian raises his hand, watching magic spark off of it. A mix of purple and silver; just like him.

The youngest, a mix of the worst traits of both his siblings.

The only one left to rule the kingdom when his parents disappear.

".......i'm stuck with your stories, but no clue who you are.."

Snapping his large wings closed, Grian walks into his bedroom. On his mirror hangs a pendant- one side moon, one side sun, and stars littered around.

Grian is the sun.

Pearl is their moon.

Jimmy is their stars.

.....

But night hadn't fallen in a long time.

"And no idea if you're dead, or just too far.."

Grian snags the pendent. Where he's going, he wants it. He'll need it.

The moon & starts to his sun, even if the quiet darkness he's found comfort in for so long has abandoned him.

Grian walks into his wardrobe, grabbing a dark cloak. Folding his vibrant wings underneath the thick fabric, he takes a breath.

"Somebody tell me, come and give me a sign.. If I fight those monsters, is it you I'll find?"
