Sam grabbed Grian's hand, pulling him forward with impressive speed. New school, new year, new people.

Grian's increasingly prevalent anxiety did not like this.

Sam was walking with a stupid confidence, twirling a knife in his hand like a pencil, while Taurtis grinned and walked on his left side. Grian followed, trying to apologize to the people they bump into- or when Sam outright shoves people away.

"sorry!"

"Shuttup, Greee-on! We need to establish dominance here!"

"...right."

This place had a functioning legal system, right? Most of the kids don't seem very fazed by Sam's antics with his knife, which is concerning.

Fingers crossed, right?

"An alpha is forward, and alpha is right-"

Grian startles, watching Sam chuck his knife into an open locker door, the force of the dramatic throw closing the locker and leaving a kid trapped inside.

Grian attempts to rescue him, barely succeeding before Sam is pulling him forward with an iron grip.

"sorr-"

"An alpha is never afraid of a fight- They don't ask politely, they kick down the door"

His voice is harsh, hissing as he pulls Grian forward. Okay, great, he can't even apologize for the lunatic-he's-rooming-with's actions.

A knife flies by his face, rooting itself in the wall.

Maybe stop ignoring him, huh?

"And show 'em who's boss with a 'roar'"

Taurtis tacked it on. Sam made a weird, intimidating bunny sound anyway.

Wonderful.

Even his thoughts are sarcastic. How did this occur?? Honestly, Grian doesn't even know.

He should've stayed in Canada when he had the chance.

Taurtis is giving him a shit-eating grin. He knows what he's doing, egging their idiotic friend on. Grian considers smacking him.

He's shoved into a sitting position on the stairs before he can retaliate, with Sam standing above him and waving the knife around in a slightly aggravated manner.

"Be an alpha, be an alpha, Got to stand up tall and proud!"

Sam almost hits someone in the head. Grian tries to apologize to them, only for the knife to fly right over his head. Good god.

"It doesn't matter if you're right, It matters that you're loud!!!"

Sam pulled Grian up. He almost tripped, falling into Taurtis, who helps him up.

People are trying to get to class, for god's sake, do they really have to do this? Lord, YHS must've fried more of Sam's braincells than he thought.

"Be an alpha."

They're walking, now. Sam releases his grip, giving Grian a dark and unsettling smile. They move through the dense halls, ending up in the cafeteria. He's shoved forward slightly, at a table of food, for some reason.
