"You want me to choose between the two of you, hm?" I asked, trying to hide the pain in my voice, although I'm unsure whether there's any point in doing so anymore.
"Yes, that is exactly what I want you to do, Azer", my name leaves her mouth like a bullet, piercing my heart.
I sigh in annoyance. I knew I'd have to choose between them at some point. I knew I'd have to choose between desire and duty, but I didn't realise it would be this soon. Godamnit. Paedyn, the love of my life or Kitt, my ki- my brother?
Why was this so difficult?
I could feel Paedyn's eyes boring into me, awaiting a response, some sort of confirmation that I would still stand by her. Too bad, I wasn't going to give her one.
"I choose duty, I choose him, I choose my brother. Over everyone. Over anyone. There's nothing you can do to change that, bu-"
I don't get to finish my sentence.
I feel a sharp thud to the back of my head, and then my world goes dark...
