SIDDHARTH'S POV

Ever saw your worst nightmare turn into a magical dream you never want to wake up from?

Or The horror house you were scared to enter welcomed you with flowers or your favourite candies?

Well, I had just experienced the same.

Myra's disappointment in me, and her anger directed towards me was no less than a nightmare itself.

Entering the dark house, knowing I probably had upset the one person I despised seeing even frowning was no less than entering in a horror house.

But, now, as I sat beside her, candles surrounding us while wearing the testimony of our bond and my loyalty towards it on my wrist;
Apparently, the nightmare had turned into an exceptional night, the kind I would most likely sell my kidney for it to never end.

Even my dreams were never this beautiful, that my reality had taken a form like.

"Siddharth," Myra lifted her eyes up from the bracelet towards me. A tiny V formed between her eyebrows. "I didn't get you any gift."

Her full, pink tinted lips formed a thin line. I caught her eyes dribbling the faint tale of guilt bubbling inside them.

Shaking my head slightly, I leaned my back on the couch. "So?" Placing my arm on the frame of the sofa, I let my head tilt sideways on the support of my fist.

"Koi soda thodi na ho raha hai yaha, ki Maine tumhe gift diya to tumhe bhi kuch dena hoga." I let out a suppressed laugh and dropped my eyes to the glinting chain around my wrist.

[-[We aren't doing business here, just because I got you a gift doesn't mean I expect something else in return. There is no transaction going on]-]

4th August, 2024; The engraved date warmed my heart.

Maybe I had chosen a rather selfish gift, for I knew now what to look at whenever life might feel a little too hard and the woman beside me might not be there; though I would absolutely dread for such a day to come.

"Still," Myra sighed, "I want to do something for you."

"Grant me a wish then." I looked at her, stretching my palm in front of her. Myra, almost subconsciously, bit her lower lip as her gaze striked at my held out palm for a second.

"Rakho na apna hath mere hath pe," I brought my palm a little closer to her. "Dar lag raha hai ky-"

[Come on, place your hand on mine. Are you scared now-?]

Before I could get the full sentence out, a warm hand was placed over mine. The feeling was the same as someone wrapping a cozy blanket over you on a shivering cold night.

"Jao, mang lo jo mangna hai." She tilted her head, shrugged her shoulders and leaned back as if giving me the string of her life into my hands. I never had something so precious, so close to me.

[[Go on. Ask for whatever you want]]

A chill ran down my spine, like a mountain would break right on my neck. The guts in my stomach twisted, like they would strangle themselves to death because apparently the words I just heard were too much for them to digest.

"Sachi?" I raised my eyebrows and narrowed my eyes as I gazed at her, trying to nitpick crumps of seriousness in the dense forest of her eyes. My grip over her hand slightly tightened.
