With my nose crinkling in annoyance, with lips puckered, and with eyes glaring at Lucas who's sitting on a kitchen across me, I tried stopping my breath.

While he's just eating happily in front of me like he's life depends on it.

“Why does it stink, Lucas?! I can't eat this!” I said as I glanced at the dried fish in front of me.

I already want to eat because we already have lumpiang shanghai that Nanay Melin gave us but he still decided to grill dried fish.

“Huwag ka nang magreklamo, kumain ka na lang diyan,” he said blankly without looking at me and is focused on eating.

I stomped my foot. “Fine. But I'm not eating that food, okay? I'll only eat lumpia,” I said and started eating.

“Ang arte-arte mo. Pasalamat ka nga may pagkain sa harap mo. Iyong iba nga walang makain, eh. Tapos ikaw aarte-arte,” he murmured with his mouth full of food.

I rolled my eyes. This asshole is guilt-tripping me but I'm not going to be guilty.

“I just haven't tried eating that thing, Lucas. And you can't force me to eat it. And why does it stink anyway? Is that even normal?” I creased my forehead.

“Isang buwan na kasi iyan diyan sa cabinet ko kaya ganyan. Tsaka kung ayaw mong kumain, walang pumipilit sayo,” he said calmly.

I breathed in. My eyes widened while my cheeks are jammed with food. I looked at the dried fish that he's eating deliciously. “What?! That's been resting inside your cabinet for a month and you're still eating it? No wonder it stinks already! Spit it! Spit it, Lucas!” I said and pointed at the table.

He looked at me with his mouth slightly open and cheeks loaded with food. “At bakit naman ako makikinig sayo, señorita?” he asked blankly.

I widened my eyes at him. “You might get sick for eating expired food!”

He chew his food slowly while looking straight at me. “Walang expiration date sa aming mahihirap—”

I motioned him to stop with my hand. “Nope! I don't like that mindset! I don't care if you're poor or rich or a millionaire! But you people should know how to take care of your health as well. You should understand that if a food is already expired, you shouldn't eat it anymore. And for your information, Ariel Lucas, expiration date isn't just for the rich, it's for everyone! So, spit it! Now!”

He chewed his food in a slow manner while listening to me. He breathed out and took the plate of dried fish then put it on the sink. Then he went back to sit across me.

“Masaya ka na, doktora?” he asked sarcastically.

I smiled wide to annoy him. “Yes, Mr. Donator. You can eat in peace now.”

He was about to eat his food using his hand when he heard what I called him. He puffed his breath. “Anong 'donator'? Wala nga akong planong mag-donate ng tamod sayo, Lucy. Maghanap ka ng iba. Maraming ibang lalaki diyan na pwede mong bayaran. Hindi ako. Pinagsasamantalahan mo ang kahirapan ko, eh.”

I raised my brows. “Then I won't pay you if you doesn't want to feel insulted.”

He scoffed and put his hands on the edges of the table in front of him. “Aba't gusto mo pa talagang makalibre, ha?”

“What? You don't want money in exchange of your sperm, so what do you want?” I asked as I chew my food.

He sighed. “Ang umalis ka. Iyon lang ang hinihingi ko.”

I smiled wide and clapped my hands cutely. “Okay! Then it's settled. I will leave as soon as you donate some sperm!”

He closed his eyes tight as if he's stressed about my existence. Then he opened it again and looked at me blankly. “Wala. Ayoko nga'ng mamigay. Maghanap ka ng iba, Lucy. Sinasabi ko sayo, wala kang mapapala sa akin.”
