After I left Trivino, I told myself that I am still going to be fine even without the presence of Lucas in my life. I admit, within those short days I had with him were the best days that I felt like I had lived my life. I never regret the days I chose to chase after him.

To be honest, living with Lucas made me realize a lot of things. That is why even after all the pains I encountered from him, I regretted nothing. Because all the good things I learned from his hometown are still with me.

That's life. It's already tough enough, so look at the brighter side at least.

It's just like forgetting your umbrella during a rainy day. The point is not about your umbrella being forgotten but you surviving the rain.

A knock made me come back to my reverie. I was just staring blankly at the ceiling, back resting on the swivel chair.

I sat property right away and looked at the door. “Come in,” I said.

The door opened. My stoic face was replaced with a smile when I saw my parents.

I automatically stood up from my seat and greeted then with a smile. “Mom! Dad! What brought you here?” I asked.

My Dad is smiling cheekily while my Mom have this independent woman kind of smile. A kind of smile that will make you feel you lose even without battling with her.

“We brought you foods, honey. It's lunch and Mr. Tungsten told us that you haven't eaten your lunch yet,” Mom said as she walked towards my desk.

I noticed that Dad is carrying some boxes of food. I somehow felt my stomach growl.

“And why wouldn't you eat, young lady? Do I have to keep on reminding you that the most important thing of the day is to eat? You shouldn't work with an empty stomach,” Dad said, walking beside Mom.

I smiled shyly. I don't want to tell them that I don't have an appetite. I am not on the mood to eat.

“Thanks, Mom, Dad. I can buy food naman sa cafeteria below, eh. You shouldn't have bought food for me na lang po sana. You just tired yourself,” I said, hands in front of me, intertwined.

Dad placed the boxes of food on my desk. While Mom sat on the chair in front.

“Then you could've at least eat as 12:00 strikes, Lucy. You shouldn't starve yourself,” Mom said.

I slowly nodded. “Yes, Mom. I understand.”

“Lucy, if you're doing this because of the company, then might as well hand the files over to me. I don't want my daughter to sacrifice her health for the sake of the company,” Dad told me.

My heart somehow swelled with what I heard. My parents gave everything to me the moment I lived with them. They were the best I must say. And the only thing I can do is not to worry them. At least, lessen their stress or not to be part of their stressors.

I smiled and nodded. “Alright, Dad. I'm gonna eat na po. Nikoel is such a spy talaga.”

I shook my head and opened the box on my table. My stomach growled when I smelled the aroma of the rice and the adobong manok that I'm sure Mom cooked, and the donuts that Dad bought for me.

I sat on the swivel chair and took the lunch box and opened it fully. Then I took the spoon and fork, then started eating.

“I am thankful that Nikoel isn't leaving your side, honey. At least I know that I have someone to trust beside you,” Mom said.

I smiled and nodded. “He's such a good employee, Mom. I am also lucky I have him with me. By the way, is he outside po? I think he didn't eat rin po.”
