Some things will never turn out as how you planned. It has proven to me the moment Lucas told me to walk out of his life, for a hundredth time around. I did not know that I could actually be wounded by someone else aside from Clovis.

It was never my intention to hurt anybody from this town. My only intention was to make him fall in love with me, deep and hard, until he will finally forget that Phaebe happened. But I did not know it will come out to this. And it is painful.

I bit my lower lip as I ran and followed him in the middle of the dark path. My eyes are stinging as well as my nose. My vision turned blurry but I still did all that I can just to keep my pace, not to be left behind in a dark forest— broken in pieces.

I felt tears slowly falling down my cheeks as I followed him. His pace is fast and his legs are long so I can barely reach him. And I am feeling scared because of the darkness around me.

I bit my lower lip to stifle my cries. I do not want him to see or hear me cry. I do not want to appear in front of him as a weak one.

When we arrived at his house, I immediately wiped my tears. I went straight to the bedroom, made the bed I can sleep on and covered myself with blanket to hide... and weep.

The next morning, the sun has not risen yet but I already prepared all my stuffs inside my luggage. I feel like Lucas is unaware that I am already going to leave. Besides he do not care, anyway.

My heart is heavy as I packed. Then as soon as I was done, I pursed my lips as I looked up, trying to stop my tears from falling.

Then I slowly walked upon the bamboo floor, just not to wake him up. And then without looking back, I zoomed out of the house, never going back again.

“Ate, how much is your mineral water?” I asked a store lady.

“Bente pesos, hija,” she answered.

“One po,” I said and handed her twenty pesos as she handed me the water.

I immediately drank it. I was so thirsty carrying my heavy luggage on the bumpy path and the bumpy road.

I sighed hard when I finished drinking the water. I looked around me.

Nothing has changed since the first time I arrived here. There are still a lot of vendors beside the terminal and their customers shouting together with them.

I pulled my luggage again. I was planning to buy something for Mom and Dad before I come back to El de Hera. So, I walked towards the small alleys of Trivino and looked at some cute things to buy.

I noticed a cute flower key chain. I pursed my lip as I looked at all of it. I do not know what to buy for my parents.

I took my phone from my wallet and called Mom. In just three rings she answered.

“Hello, Lucy?” she answered.

I examined the cute key chain. “Hi, Mom. What do you like for a keychain? A tulip, rose, dahlia, lavender, or a clover?” I asked.

She did not answer for a bit. “Uhm... I'd love to have the dahlia. Why do you ask, honey?”

I took one dahlia keychain.

I pursed my lips. “I'm gonna buy you a keychain. Dad too. What do you think would he like from the choices?”

“Oh, really? Aw, thank you, honey. That's so nice of you. Well, your Dad would love to have the rose,” Mom answered.

“Rose? Why rose?” I asked.

She chuckled. “He loves giving me roses when he was still courting me. A rose would make him feel better.”
