“Kailan kayo aalis?” Lucas asked us while we were busy eating lunch.

Nikoel did not answer. He was just busy eating his heart out. While I looked at Lucas with mouth jammed with food.

I looked at him innocently. He is sitting on a chair across us. While Nikoel and I are sitting beside each other because Nikoel acts like a child who can not eat without me beside him.

I dodged Nikoel's shoulder which made him turn his head on me, while his mouth is full.

“When are you going home?” I asked him.

He stared at me for awhile. “When you go home, Miss Lucy,” he answered then went back to eating.

Lucas looked at him with his dark cold eyes. I innocently faced Lucas. “Uhm... I'm actually gonna have my vacation again.”

Lucas' eyes went to me. I wonder if he ate already. I feel like he still didn't started eating yet and kept bombarding us questions as to when we're going home.

“Marami kang pwedeng rentahan sa barrio, Lucy. Hindi tayo kakasyang tatlo rito sa bahay ko. Tsaka hindi motel ang bahay ko, Lucy. Hindi ako tumatanggap ng magkarelasyon dito,” he said, eyes gazing me with depth coldness.

“We're not in a relationship. I am her employee. Stop pointing out what's not true,” Nikoel interrupted without looking at Lucas but still continued eating.

I smiled proudly as I confidently looked back at Lucas. “Heard that, Lucas? We're not in a relationship. He's just my employee. Stop pointing out what's not true—”

“Narinig ko, Lucy,” Lucas cut me off, glaring at me.

I giggled. “Well then, that's great to hear! It means, we don't need a motel because we don't have a relationship. Now, why don't you eat already, Lucas. You should eat deliciously like my employee here. Look,” I said as I pointed proudly at Nikoel.

Lucas just looked at me harshly then started eating. We became silent for awhile. Only the noises from the utensils and our munching could be heard. But then Nikoel talked and broke the silence.

“What kind of grass is this?” Nikoel asked.

I looked at him. He was pointing at the spinach that he had been eating for how many minutes now.

“That's not a grass, Nikoel. That's a vegetable. That's what happened when you only eat cup noodles everyday,” I said.

“This is still a grass, Miss Lucy. Because it grows from the ground and it is similar to the grass. Basically, we're eating grass,” he claimed.

I stared at him for awhile. “Alright, whatever, Nikoel. Just eat. And oh, before you leave, bring some spinach from Lucas' garden, so you can cook for yourself.”

“I don't cook, Miss Lucy,” he said and started eating again.

I blinked. Oh, yes. I forgot.

“Then watch YouTube, Nikoel,” I said.

“I'll just eat cup noodles. It's easier,” he said.

I sighed and just shook my head. He really won't grow old anymore if he would keep on eating cup noodles. His age will stop.

“Do you wanna die early, Nikoel? Don't you have a family to worry about? Why don't you care about yourself?” I asked, brows crossing.

He kept eating, not minding what I am saying.

“I have but they're supportive,” he answered.

I blinked and shook my head. “You know what? Next time we'll go out, we'll only eat vegetables. I'm gonna help you stay alive for at least a year.”
