Chapter Twelve

It was a long ride from Trivino to El de Hera, but with all the thoughts fighting in my head, it seems to me that the ride was short. We arrived at El de Hera immediately.

Nikoel opened the door for me as I went out of the car. He was also the one who took care of my suitcase and we both went inside in silence.

“Lucy!” My Mom wearing an elegant white dress, ran to me and gave me a hug.

A smile lifted on my face as I hugged her back. “Hi, Mom.”

She looked at me with all her smiles. “I'm happy that you're back. It was only days but it seems a year to me.”

“I'm here already.” I looked around. “Where's Dad?”

Her smiley eyes went sad. But a fake smile stayed pasted on her lips.

“He's busy, honey. He was devastated when he learned that the company is falling. That is why... he is too focused on lifting it up back,” she answered.

I nodded understandingly.

I feel sad for Dad. It is a good thing that I am back here. Even without experience I will do my best to put the company back to what it was used to be.

“Are you hungry? You should eat first and take some rest,” she said.

I nodded and smiled a bit. “I think I should. I am feeling hungry.”

Mom looked at Nikoel and smiled. “Mr. Tungsten, did you bought what I asked you?”

“Yes, Ma'am,” Nikoel answered.

“Alright. Give it to me later,” Mom said. “Take your lunch first.”

I took a rest for the whole day. So, the next morning, Nikoel, Mom, and I talked about the things going on in the company. I did not see my Dad the whole time. Mom said he stayed inside the company, trying to fix it.

It was hard for me understanding all the stuffs Mom and Nikoel told me. But after three days of studying all of it, somehow I understood all that has to do, and has to be fixed.

Wearing a pencil skirt that reaches my shank, a white blouse inside a suit, and a black stiletto, I was ready to face the board of directors.

“What are they like? You know, the board of directors?” I asked Nikoel who is driving in front.

“As we told you, they are the once that are gonna be part on your decision making inside the company. They will definitely ask you a lot of questions later. The company's stake will depend upon your answers, Miss,” he answered.

I sighed. “What if my answers are wrong? What are they gonna do?”

“Who knows? It's either they will keep on insulting you or they will leave the company as well. No one knows, Miss,” he responded.

I bit my lower lip and sighed. The pressure is on me. It is so heavy to the point that I feel scared.

“Don't be scared, Miss Luciana. I and your Dad will be there. We're gonna help you with everything,” he said.

He is the new appointed secretary. Miss Manriquez who was Phaebe's secretary left the company as well together with her. So, my Mom appointed Nikoel as my secretary, since he studied business and knew a lot of business stuffs.

I nodded. “Alright.”

I felt nervous as we arrived at the company. I breathed out as I looked above. It was indeed a huge company. You can totally see how my parents worked hard for it. And I can't afford to see my parents losing this company.
