Chapter Forty-Nine

The next morning, while my Dad still was not discharged, I decided to visit the company to check how it was going. Though, I gave my full trust to Nikoel and I believe in his potential, I still want to check the changes that he made when I was gone.

When I arrived, the first thing I noticed in the company is how clean and bright it is. When I was still here, the company is filled with grays—gray walls, gray tinted windows and doors, gray lights, and so many grays. But now, my eyes felt so blessed as I looked at it, it is filled with white.

As I entered the garage, the walls are white. There are also plants everywhere that made me smile so much because I appreciate how he decided to put plants there.

When I was in front of the building, it is glistening in white. The windows are no longer tinted gray, it is already tinted transparent that looks white when struck by the sunlight. The walls are also white, even the doors. And again, plants are everywhere.

As I went inside the lobby, the furnitures are also white. The vases where they put the plants looks so elegant in white. The desks are white. And it looks really pretty.

"Whoah," I can't help but feel amazed.

Nikoel will definitely be a good interior designer if he just pursued designing.

"Good morning, Miss Lucy," a woman greeted me as I walked passed her.

I smiled back and greeted her as well. "Good morning."

Eyes are on me while they talk. I could even hear some saying that maybe I am just here for a week to take care of my Dad. While some says maybe I am not going back to Switzerland anymore.

"Good morning, Miss Lucy," a bunch of people greeted me.

I answered back, "Good morning."

The first destination I have in my mind is the cafeteria. I want to see the changes there since there are already big changes here in the lobby. How much more the places of the company that is quite hidden?

I smiled as I noticed that a lot have changed as well. It looks brighter. There are more foods beside the wall, so the people no longer have to go out of the company if they want to eat. There are also coffee makers and even different kind of beverages everywhere.

The chairs and the tables are in white as well, but the tables this time are circular which makes it look elegant.

I smirked. "Nikoel have a taste."

I went to the counter and Tatay whose busy arranging the foods on the stool did not see me yet.

I cleared my throat. "Good morning po. Anong masarap na ulam po today?"

He quickly look at me. His eyes widened when he saw. "Ma'am Lucy! Kailan ka pa nakabalik rito?"

I smiled at him. "Kahapon pa lang po. Wow! Super ganda na ng cafeteria. Ang tagal ko na po pala na hindi nakabalik rito."

He nodded in agreement. "Oo nga, Ma'am. Ang daming nangyari no'ng mga panahong wala ka. Ang dami ring nagbago. Pero mabuti na lang at bumalik ka, kailangan ka ngayon ng Daddy at Mommy mo."

I smiled and nodded. "Oo nga po, eh.  Pagtuonan ko po muna ng pansin ang Dad at Mom ko. Si Nanay Melin po? Nandiyan po sa kusina?" I asked.

He nodded. "Oo nandoon. Tingnan mo lang."

"Sige po. Thank you," I said and quickly walked towards the door of the kitchen.

I peeked on the glass door and saw the chefs are busy cooking. I smiled and opened the door quietly. My eyes immediately looked for Nanay Melin.
