While eating, Mom and Dad went to Phaebe's parents to carry baby Code and the two little princesses. Even Phaebe's friends are there to carry baby Code and to have fun with the birthday celebrants. So, I and Nikoel are left eating on our table.

I noticed Lucas having fun with the other guys, like Philip and his friends probably, like Atty. Lareho and Architect Cruise. I am glad to see that he made friends with those guys.

I look at Nikoel whose eating silently beside me. "Aren't you gonna talk to the other guys ba, Nikoel?" I asked.

He looked at me. "Aren't you gonna talk to the other girls ba, Miss Lucy?" he asked back.

"Tsk. Nagtatanong lang ako. I am just curious bakit ayaw mong lumapit sa kanila," I said.

"Ayoko lang. Hindi naman kami close ng mga iyan," he said.

I nodded. "Same goes to me. Hindi ko close ang mga friends ni Phaebe."

He nodded. We just both watched the people having fun around the venue. There are also a lot of kids playing.

"Mabuti na lang at naging mga kaibigan ni Luc ang mga taong iyan," Nikoel spoke after awhile of silence.

I looked at him then back to Lucas and the other guys who are laughing and joking around.

"Why?" I asked.

He puckered his lips. "Wala naman kasing masyadong kaibigan iyan si Luc mula noon, eh. Marami siyang kakilala pero totoong kaibigan, wala. Kaya masaya ako na makitang malapit na siya sa magkakaibigang iyan ngayon."

I slowly nodded. Somehow I could feel that Nikoel still cares for his brother even though they bicker a lot and even though they usually don't understand each other. I could see how he is genuinely happy seeing his brother make friends with new people.

And I guess that is the gist of having a sibling. You will misunderstood each other a lot, but at the end of the day, you still want what's best for them.

"How about you? Wala akong nakitang may close friend ka? Why?" I asked him.

Ever since I knew him, wala akong nakitang may pinakilala siyang kaibigan sa akin. He is so private.

He sipped on his wine. "I don't have friends, Miss Lucy. I prefer being alone, working alone, living alone. Doon rin naman kasi ako nasanay. Kaya wala akong kaibigan."

"Hmm... okay. But nandito naman ako. I can be your friend. Tsaka, don't you notice it, Nikoel? Same tayong walang friends. Kaya siguro nagkakaintindihan tayo madalas!" I pointed out.

And I just realized that now.

He raised his brows at me. "Oo nga, 'no? Pero pass na muna, sakit ka lang sa ulo, eh."

I gasped. "Hey! Baka nakakalimutan mong boss mo ako, Nikoel?"

"Baka nakakalimutan mong iniwan mo sa akin lahat ng trabaho mo, Miss Lucy?" he asked back in the most sarcastic way.

Hindi ako nakasagot. Tama naman siya. But I am not guilty. It was worth it for me naman.

But if there is something I am guilty about, it is about Nikoel still unhealed from his past. And I want to help him this time.

Maybe this is also one of the reasons kaya bumalik ako rito.

"Was Lucas a good brother to you, Nikoel?" I asked him.

I don't want to ask him about how they separated ways, I want to ask the most little things first.

He drank on his wine again. "Bakit mo naman natanong?" he asked back.
