I blinked and immediately looked away after our eyes met. I could feel my heart hammering wildly. I could feel his stares to the point that I find it hard to swallow the food I am eating.

I can't believe that I am still surprised for seeing him here in Phaebe's wedding. Of course, nandito siya! They are very close, Lucy!

I do not know what to do. I can't move from my seat. I felt tense. My heart won't calm down.

I tried to swallow my food and glanced at his direction but I almost choked my food when I found him staring at me.

Shit, Lucy! Bakit tumingin ka pa sa direction niya?! And why is he staring anyway?!

"N-Nikoel?" I called Nikoel's attention.

He immediately looked at me. "Yes, Miss Lucy?" he asked.

"Can you move to your left a bit?" I asked.

He is sitting across me. But I could still see Lucas so I want him to cover me from Lucas' intense stares.

He looked at his left then looked at me. "Why?" he asked.

I licked my lower lip trying so hard not to look at Lucas' direction.

"Uhm... someone's staring at me," I whispered but enough for him to hear.

And I think it's illegal because the last time I heard, he is already married and is expecting a child.

"Who?" Nikoel suddenly turned his head on his back to see who's looking.

"No!" I shrieked a bit but I was too late.

I bit my lower lip and glanced at Lucas. His eyes are no longer on me but on Nikoel whose also looking at him.

Both of them are not looking so surprised with each other's presence. But I could feel how intense their gazes are.

Nikoel calmly turned his head back to me and then moved his chair to the left, enough to cover me from Lucas.

"Ayos na ba ito? Hindi ka na ba niya nakikita?" he asked me.

I nodded. "Yes. Thank you. Now, I can eat peacefully."

"Good," he said and then looked at the people on the dancefloor again while holding a wine glass.

I just continued eating, trying to calm my heart. Nikoel sometimes eat from the food I ordered which made me feel comfortable again somehow. He would also talk to me the whole time and I appreciate it whenever he would initiate a conversation just to make me feel better.

"I wonder what it feels like to be married?" I spoke as I watched Phaebe and Clovis dancing in the middle of the crowd while people are clapping for them.

"Get married and you'll see," Nikoel answered.

"Psh! I can't even find a better man for me! Paano ako mag-aasawa?" I said.

"Then why think about getting married if you don't have a man in mind?" he asked.

I pursed my lips. "Nag-a-ask lang ang person, Nikoel! Super serious mo. Nag-wo-wonder lang ako. Eh, ikaw? Aren't you wondering kung ano ang feeling maging married?"

"Hindi," he answered quickly.

I raised my brows at him. He is watching the newlyweds while I am trying to analyze his facial expression.

"Real? You're not interested? Bakit?" I asked.

"Ayokong makulong," he replied.

I blinked. "Kulong? Is that how you view marriage? Being jailed?"
