You know you are a strong person if you are capable to laugh even amidst the cries. It means being emotionally intelligent or being able to handle your emotions well.

One of the most important factor of life is emotional intelligence. No matter how mad you are, never shout at someone because it is no longer reasonable. No matter how jealous you are, never badmouth someone else. No matter how pained and lost you are, do not ever wrap a rope around your neck, because it is no longer acceptable.

Your feelings are valid, but your behavior is not.

Yes, it is easier said than done, but know that there are always better options.

“Lucy, honey?”

I heard my Mom's voice coming. I could hear the sounds coming from her stilettos.

I am currently on the garden, here in our house at El de Hera, watering the plants and vegetables I planted. I have no plans on going to work today since it is Saturday. Pahinga minsan.

“Yes, Mom?” I answered as I sprinkled water on the plants.

“We're leaving,” she said.

They said her and Dad will go on a date today. They also planned on dragging me with them but I chose not to come.

“Okay. Take care!” I replied.

“Are you sure you won't go somewhere today? You can ask Mr. Tungsten to accompany you,” she asked.

I pursed my lips.

After that day that Lucas left, after the day she told me she will no longer hinder me with love, after she apologized, she became more laid-back than before. She keeps on asking me to go out after work and have fun. She would even tell me to enjoy with Nikoel.

But it was my choice to stay at home as much as possible. I easily feel drained whenever I go out too much.

Though, there are times that I really visit some places because Nikoel suggested it and I can not say 'no' to him.

“I'm okay lang po, Mom. I will stay at home na lang po muna. But if ever I would change my mind, tatawagan ko na lang po si Nikoel. I'm sure he's gonna accompany me,” I told her.

I had been working on my tagalog and it is going pretty well. Thanks to Nikoel for teaching me better.

“Alright. Just text me if you'd change your mind,” she said. “We'll get going. Bye!”

I smiled a bit and nodded even without looking at her and busying myself with the plants.

“Opo!” I answered.

Then I heard the sounds of her stilettos going far.

When I felt like I am alone, I sighed and looked at my plants, looking fresh and green. I suddenly had a glimpse of the plants I had in Trivino, particularly at Lucas' house.

“I promised to get those plants once I come back there but I haven't been there for so many months. Kumusta kaya sila? Are they healthy kaya?” I asked my plants as if they would understand me.

I looked at the drops of water flowing on each leaves. They are looking really healthy.

“Lucas was not always going there pa naman siguro. Baka the plants are getting yellow na. Or worse, baka dead na sila dahil wala na silang na-absorb na water? And for sure hindi na nag-go home si Lucas dahil malayo ang China,” I talked to them like a crazy woman.

My gosh! Iyong all effort ko sa pag-plant sa kanila will go to waste!

“What should I do? Should I go there and get them? Or should I just move on and let life go on? Or should I just go there ngayon?” I asked the plants as if they would answer me.
