You stirred gently in your sleep, feeling the soft warmth of Heeseung's breath against your skin. As you turned over, you noticed his eyes were slightly open, watching you with a tender expression. A sleepy smile tugged at your lips as you nestled closer, thinking he was just as close to drifting off as you were.
Just as you were about to close your eyes again, Heeseung's finger lightly poked your nose, making you scrunch it up in response. You opened your eyes fully, blinking up at him in mild confusion.
"Wake up a little," he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur, yet it sent a warm feeling through your chest.
"Hmm?" You blinked again, fighting off the haze of sleep. "Is something wrong?"
Heeseung's lips curled into a soft smile, and he shook his head. "No, nothing's wrong. I just... I wanted to ask you something."
You hummed in response, the sound encouraging him to continue.
"What would you say... if I asked you to marry me?" His voice was a blend of shyness and sincerity, making your heart skip a beat.
A rush of warmth spread through you, your sleepy mind quickly waking up at his words. You looked at him, eyes wide, searching his face to see if he was serious. But all you saw was the gentle, loving expression that you had fallen in love with.
You smiled, feeling a surge of affection for the man holding you so tenderly. "Of course," you whispered back, your voice filled with certainty and love. "I'd say yes in a heartbeat."
His smile widened, the kind that made his eyes crinkle at the corners. Without another word, he pulled you closer, tucking your head under his chin, his arms wrapping securely around you as if he never wanted to let you go.
You felt the steady beat of his heart against your ear, and it soothed you in a way that nothing else ever could. The room was quiet, save for the sound of your synchronized breathing, and you felt completely at peace in his embrace.
"Good," he murmured, his voice laced with contentment as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. "Then let's stay like this forever."
You smiled against his chest, closing your eyes as you snuggled deeper into his arms. "Forever sounds perfect."
And with that, you both drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's warmth and the unspoken promise of a beautiful future together.
