When he comforts you when you think about your abusive ex.
You were trapped in the nightmare again. Your ex-boyfriend's face twisted in anger as he raised his hand to strike you. His words cut deeper than any physical blow, filled with venom and cruelty. You could feel the pain, both physical and emotional, as he hit you, scolded you, and tortured you. You tried to scream, but no sound came out. The fear was suffocating, and you couldn't breathe.
You jolted awake, gasping for breath, your heart pounding in your chest. The room was dark and silent, with only the faint sound of Heeseung's breathing beside you. You slipped out of bed carefully, not wanting to wake him, and made your way to the living room.
As soon as you sat on the sofa, the tears started to fall uncontrollably. The memories of your abusive ex overwhelmed you, and you couldn't stop crying. You pulled your knees to your chest, hugging them tightly as you sobbed into the silence.
A few minutes later, you felt a warm hand on your shoulder. You looked up to see Heeseung standing there, concern etched on his face.
"Hey," he said softly, sitting down next to you. "What's wrong?"
You shook your head, trying to wipe away your tears. "I didn't want to wake you."
Heeseung pulled you into his arms, holding you close. "It's okay. Tell me what's going on."
You took a deep breath, trying to steady your voice. "I had a nightmare. About him."
Heeseung's grip tightened around you protectively. "Your ex?"
You nodded, fresh tears streaming down your face. "He was so cruel, Heeseung. He used to hit me, scold me, torture me. I thought I was over it, but sometimes it just... it just comes back."
Heeseung gently cupped your face, wiping away your tears with his thumbs. "You're safe now. He's not here, and he can't hurt you anymore."
"But the memories," you choked out. "They won't leave me alone."
Heeseung held you closer, his voice soothing. "I know it's hard. But you're not alone. I'm here with you, and I'll always be here for you."
You buried your face in his chest, sobbing uncontrollably. Heeseung stroked your hair, whispering comforting words as you let out all the pain and fear.
"I feel so weak," you admitted between sobs. "Like I'll never be free of him."
"You're not weak," Heeseung said firmly. "You're one of the strongest people I know. You've been through so much, and you're still here, still fighting."
You looked up at him, your eyes red and swollen from crying. "How do you always know what to say?"
Heeseung smiled gently. "Because I love you, and I hate seeing you in pain. I want to do everything I can to help you heal."
"But what if I never heal?" you whispered, your voice filled with fear.
"You will," Heeseung assured you. "It might take time, but you will. And I'll be with you every step of the way."
You sniffled, feeling a glimmer of hope. "Promise?"
"Promise," he said, leaning down to kiss your forehead. "You're not alone in this. We'll get through it together."
You hugged him tightly, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. The nightmare still lingered, but with Heeseung by your side, it didn't seem as terrifying.
"Thank you," you whispered. "For everything."
Heeseung kissed your forehead again. "Always. Now, let's get you back to bed. You need rest."
You nodded, allowing him to help you up. As you walked back to the bedroom, hand in hand, you felt a renewed sense of strength. With Heeseung's love and support, you knew you could face anything, even the haunting memories of your past.
