Stare

You and Heeseung were comfortably snuggled on the couch, the dim lights of the living room casting a warm glow as you both watched your favorite k-drama. A cute scene was playing on the screen—one of those over-the-top moments where the guy stares at the girl, making her flustered and giggly with just a single, intense gaze. You scoffed, rolling your eyes.

"Oh, come on! As if a guy can just stare and make a girl blush like that," you said, your tone dripping with skepticism.

Heeseung turned to look at you, one eyebrow raised, an amused smile forming on his lips. "Oh, really?" he said, pausing the show as he shifted to face you completely. "You think that's impossible?"

You shrugged, crossing your arms. "It's so unrealistic. Like, a guy can't just stare at a girl and make her all giggly. That's only in dramas."

His smirk grew, and he tilted his head in that playful way he always did when he had an idea up his sleeve. "You really believe that?"

You nodded confidently, not thinking much of his expression. But before you could go on about how corny K-dramas could be, Heeseung leaned forward slightly, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Alright then," he said, his voice teasingly low. "Let's put it to the test. Staring contest."

You blinked at him, a little taken aback. "A staring contest? That's so childish, Heeseung."

"Oh, come on," he teased, leaning back just a little but still keeping his gaze fixed on you. "If you blush, you lose. Prove to me it's just a drama thing and that you're totally unaffected by a simple stare."

You rolled your eyes, but his little challenge sparked your competitive side. "Fine. But I'm not going to blush just because of a look."

"Confident, huh?" he said, still grinning. "Let's see how long that lasts."

You nodded and turned to face him, trying your best to look as unaffected as possible. Heeseung's face softened as he looked at you, his eyes warm and gentle, those deep brown "bambi" eyes practically twinkling. You swallowed, suddenly realizing he was staring a bit... more intensely than you'd expected.

The room was so quiet you could hear your own breathing. His eyes were fixed on yours, and as much as you tried not to notice, he was really close, leaning toward you just enough that you could feel the slight warmth radiating from him.

"You're not blushing yet, are you?" he whispered, leaning in even closer.

"No," you muttered, your voice betraying the faintest hint of nervousness. "Not even close."

But then he tilted his head, his eyes narrowing just slightly, a small smirk tugging at his lips as he leaned even closer. You could feel his breath on your face now, and your heart betrayed you, thumping a little louder with each passing second. It felt like he was getting closer by the second.

"You sure?" he asked softly, barely a whisper.

Your cheeks felt warmer, and you were desperately hoping he wouldn't notice. But, of course, Heeseung being Heeseung, he did. His smirk deepened as he reached a hand up to gently brush a strand of hair away from your face. The move was subtle but so gentle that it made your cheeks flare up even more. His fingertips barely grazed your skin, sending tiny shivers down your spine.

"Your face is getting kind of red," he teased, voice low, his eyes still locked on yours. "Are you sure this doesn't work?"

"Nope," you said, forcing yourself not to look away. "You're the one cheating. You can't just keep leaning in and touching my face—that's not fair."

He chuckled softly, and the sound only made your face feel warmer. "Blushing counts as losing, you know. That was the whole point of the game."

You took a steadying breath, determined not to give in. "I'm not blushing," you managed to say, even though you could feel the heat rising in your cheeks.

"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow, leaning closer still, until your faces were inches apart. Then, he ever so lightly blew on your face, the sensation so sudden and unexpected that it made you blink—and worse, made you flush even more.

"Hey!" you blurted, pulling back slightly. "That's cheating!"

He laughed, sitting back with a look of pure satisfaction on his face. "Hey, if it works, it works. Besides, you were blushing already. I just... helped you out a little."

You huffed, crossing your arms as you tried to will the blush away. "No, you totally cheated! That wasn't a fair stare-down. You were practically in my face!"

He shrugged, his expression unrepentant. "You were the one who said a guy couldn't make a girl blush just by staring." He leaned in slightly, his smirk returning. "And you lost, by the way. Big time."

You rolled your eyes, trying not to smile, but he caught the small smirk that crept up on your lips. He nudged your shoulder with his, laughing softly. "See? Told you it's possible."

"Oh, whatever," you muttered, but you couldn't help laughing with him. "You and your little tricks."

"Hey, I think it's pretty romantic," he teased, reaching over to pull you close to his side. He grabbed the remote, unpausing the drama. "I'd say that makes us even cuter than them, don't you think?"

You laughed, settling back into the warmth of his side. "Maybe. But you're still a cheater."

Heeseung grinned, giving you a playful squeeze. "You can think that all you want," he said, "but we both know who won this round."
