You sighed softly, trying to hide your discomfort as you walked alongside Heeseung towards the party. It wasn't that you disliked going out; it was just that these kinds of gatherings weren't really your scene. You much preferred the comfort of your home, curled up with a good book. But Heeseung, ever the social butterfly, had convinced you to come along. He said you needed to get out more, to socialize, and not be cooped up all the time.

"You're going to have fun, I promise," Heeseung said, noticing the reluctance in your step. He nudged you playfully, trying to lift your spirits. "Just give it a chance, okay?"

You forced a smile, not wanting to ruin his night. "Yeah, okay. I'll try."

As you entered the crowded room, you plastered a polite smile on your face, your eyes scanning the room for familiar faces. The music was loud, and people were scattered everywhere, either dancing, talking, or holding drinks. It was a typical party atmosphere, and you could already feel the tension building in your chest.

Heeseung, ever observant, noticed your discomfort. He gently nudged you towards a group of your friends who had just spotted you and waved. "Go on, say hi to your friends. I'll be around if you need me."

You nodded, trying to maintain your smile as you approached your friends. They immediately pulled you into their conversation, complimenting your appearance.

"Wow, Y/N, you look amazing tonight!" one of them gushed, her eyes shining with approval.

"Yeah, that dress is killer!" another chimed in.

You thanked them, genuinely touched by their kind words, though you still felt a bit out of place.

Just then, a man who looked heavily intoxicated stumbled over to your group, his eyes glazed over as he scanned you all. "Well, don't you ladies look sexy tonight," he slurred, a sleazy grin spreading across his face.

One of your friends immediately frowned, stepping forward protectively. "Get lost, creep. No one's interested."

The man scowled at her, but he didn't move. Instead, his eyes lingered on you, making you feel incredibly uneasy. Your heart raced, and a cold chill ran down your spine as you recognized him. This wasn't the first time you'd seen this man—he had a habit of showing up at parties like this, always causing trouble.

Your friends, oblivious to your fear, continued to brush him off, and eventually, he staggered away, mumbling under his breath. You let out a shaky breath, trying to calm yourself. But the night had already lost its appeal, and you found yourself anxiously waiting for it to be over.

After spending the night making small talk while your friends drank and danced, you finally excused yourself to go to the washroom. You needed a moment to collect yourself, to breathe away from the noise and chaos.

As you stood in front of the mirror, you tried to steady your nerves. You hated feeling like this—so out of control, so vulnerable. Just as you were about to leave, the door swung open behind you, and your heart stopped.
