Seraphina's POV
We were walking back to the Academy, our laughter and chatter filling the air. This day had been perfect or so I thought.
Flynn was walking beside me, his hand brushing against mine every now and then. Alam kong sinasadya niya itong gawin pero hindi ko siya pinuna dahil gusto ko naman. I smirked at him. I intertwined our hands. He smiled at me softly.
Malapit na kami sa Academy nang may marinig kaming malakas na pagsabog. The ground shook beneath our feet, and we all froze in place.
"Ano 'yun?" Arianna gasped. Bago pa man may makasagot, isa na namang malakas na pagsabog ang aming narinig, ngayon ay mas malapit na. Dark smokes began to rise in the distance, and the air was filled with the smell of burning.
"It's the dark mages," Elijah said, his voice grim. "They're attacking."
"We have to get back, now!" Aiden shouted, taking in charge. Nagsimula kaming tumakbo habang hawak-hawak pa rin niya ang kamay ko, nakasunod naman ang iba sa likod namin. Hindi na namin naisip ang mag-teleport para sana mas mabilis kaming makarating dahil sa pagkataranta.
As we neared the Academy, the sound of battle grew louder. The clash of steel, the sound of magic, and the cries of the wounded filled the air. When we reached the gate of the Academy, chaos greeted us. Sirang-sira na ang barrier, maraming dark mages at dark creatures ang nagkalat sa Academy grounds habang nilalabanan naman ito ng mga estudyante at guro.
I summoned my own magic and the others did the same. Humigpit ang hawak ko sa espadang gawa sa ice. Mabilis kong sinangga ang lumilipad na kutsilyo patungo sa amin gamit ang aking armas.
"Watch out!" Arianna shouted, casting a protective air shield around us just as a dark mage threw a dark fireball in our direction. The fireball exploded against the shield.
"Thanks," I said, giving her a quick nod.
"We can't let them reach the main building," saad ni Arisson. "We need to hold the line here."
Sunod-sunod na sumugod sa amin ang mga kalaban, mapa-dark mage man o dark creatures. Ang hangin ay puno na ng amoy ng usok at dugo.
As I fought, I noticed Asara and Arianna fight harmoniously. Arianna was using her wind magic to create gusts that knocked our enemies off balance, saka naman papatamaan ni Asara ang mga ito ng explosion magic niya. Napangiwi ako nang tumalsik sa damit ko ang dugong galing sa pinasabugan ni Asara. Kitang-kita ko ang laman-loob nito. Damn. That's gross.
"Focus, Sera!" Flynn's voice brought me back to the fight in front of me. A dark mage pounced at me, and I barely had time to react. Mabilis kong itinaas ang aking kamay para gumawa ng wall of ice. The mage crashed into it, giving me a moment to catch my breath.
"Are you okay?" tanong ni Flynn, puno ng pag-aalala ang boses niya.
"I'm fine," I managed to say, though my heart was pounding.
"Be careful, love." I nodded. "You too." He smiled before turning his attention back to the battle.
I watched as Sebastian, with his enhanced strength, parang stick lang kung ituring niya ang mga kalaban na kaharap niya. His movements were swift and precise, each strike was powerful enough to kill his opponents. Paano ba naman kasi, puro vital points ang tinitira niya.
I saw Flynn create a barrier of fire around a group of dark mages, trapping them inside. They screamed as the flames closed in. Their dark magic was no match for my baby's fiery magic.
"Focus on the leaders!" rinig kong sigaw ni Elijah habang iniiwasan ko ang kagat ng isang kalahating ahas at kalahating scorpion. Tangina! Ang pangit ng itsura niya. I sent a blast of fire towards it nang mapansin kong tila hindi ito tinatablan ng yelong mahika ko. I ignored their shocked gazes. Tinupok ng aking apoy ang ulo ng aking kalaban.
