'You're crazy.' I snorted at Asher while pulling a pair of shorts on.

I felt excellent and after the doctor checked up on me another time, I was allowed to go 'home' already again. I better did because I wasn't waiting to spend another pair of days in the hospital, I saw enough of the hospital the last few weeks.

We just got back at the campground and Asher suggested we try archery.

'Why am I? Archery looks fun, we can at least try it.' He responded as his eyes stayed on mine, not flicking down once as I pulled the shorts on.

He was such a gentleman, I loved it.

He was perfect for me, he tried anything to keep me satisfied and happy, and when things went wrong, he was there to get me out. It was a shame I didn't meet him earlier.

'I almost drowned because of your idea to go swimming in the dark and now you want to try archery? I dare to bet one of us accidentally shoots an arrow in the other's chest or something and that one of us dies. Conclusion, your ideas are dangerous as hell.' I crossed my arms as I sat back up on the air mattress, looking at him calmly.

'Then what else do you want to do? This forest is in general boring.' His voice slowed down as he spoke, hand reaching up to rub over his forehead as his eyes shut.

It seemed like he didn't feel well suddenly.

'Ash? Are you okay?' I asked as I pulled him closer to me on the bed, letting him lean against my chest as a grumble left his mouth, not answering me.

Faith decided to curse him with my bad luck, too, I assumed.

'Come on, bud, don't do this right now. We just came back from the hospital.' I groaned softly, cupping his face to feel how warm he was before I laid him down on the bed, moving his hair out of his face.

He seemed pretty fine on the first look, but how come he didn't react to me anymore like he was passed out? I've never seen Asher sick in my life before, so this was quite unusual to me.

Maybe he didn't drink enough, causing him to pass out due to the heat. I took his wrist gently to feel his pulse.

Sixty-six beats in a minute, that was perfect for a guy like him, so his heart was still doing fine.

With a hum I laid my hand on his chest, counting how many breaths he took a minute. Fifteen was what I counted, so that was fine, too.

'Why are you like this?' I groaned softly, pressing the back of my hand another time against his cheek, followed by his forehead to double check his temperature.

It still felt alright, not like his skin was cooking. I flinched when he suddenly opened his eyes again, causing it to scare me.

'Good crap, Asher, are you alright?' I exhaled, looking at him worriedly.

He seemed to think about something before he looked me in the eyes again, pushing himself up so he was sitting again.

'Yeah, just, seeing things.' He said slowly, seeming confused by his own words as he spoke them.

Seeing things? As in hallucinations? Probably not because then he wouldn't act like this.

'You need to explain that to me.' I muttered, squeezing his knee softly to get his attention back to me.

The sudden energy that came off from him told me he was thinking of something that worried him. He swallowed for a moment before he bit on his lip, looking me in the eyes again.
