—First Person POV.—
The sun was barely peeking over the horizon, and Kinoko was still fast asleep when I glanced down at the note that'd been slipped under my door.
A yawn drew from my lips—body a little sore from last night and I think I can feel some eyebags crawling onto my features.
After we'd returned, Izuku realized there was a guard perched in the corridor right outside my room and had to find another way to get me to the chambers.
Which involved the Traveler carrying me and scaling the side of the castle to safely deliver me to my window before finally bidding me goodnight—
The Traveler stood near the bedpost with his back turned, his dark silhouette etched against the soft glow of moonlight as he moved headed off to the open window.
The quiet of the room was broken when I spoke up "I just wanted to thank you for tonight," I clear my throat "I really needed this."
Izuku paused, then tilted his head back over his shoulder—for a brief moment, his eyes widened in surprise before softening into a small nod "It was nothing," He assured, a gentle chuckle escaping his lips.
Under the moon's glow, my eyes flickered over him—every detail of his face illuminated in soft light. The shift of shadows and brightness made his dark gaze glisten like polished malachite.
He's so pretty, it's unfair.
I took a tentative step closer and Izuku turned to fully meet my gaze—his expression shifting as a crimson hue suddenly burst across his cheeks.
He stepped back nervously, his eyes darting away for a split second as he fumbled for words I couldn't quite catch.
As I made my way forward, the Traveler continued to stumble back—actually, in his nervous retreat, he nearly lost his footing and almost tumbled right out of the window.
With a surprised gasp, he thankfully caught the frame and I was able to close the distance between us.
And for one long moment, he stood frozen there—eyes squeezed shut as a breathless "(Y/n)...?" Drew from his lips.
How cute..
I leaned up to press a quick, gentle kiss on his cheek "Thank you, Izuku." I murmured softly.
Upon hearing his name, the Travelers eyes snapped open wide, and his hand slipped completely—making him fall back out the window.
I yelped and rushed to look out the window, only to find his shadows had latched onto the sill—easily holding him suspended against the wall.
He sweat-dropped and a sheepish, apologetic smile danced across his face "Goodnight, (Y/n)..?"
