—First Person POV.—

The rhythmic clack of boots echoed softly through the polished stone corridors—Izuku walked silently on my left, his hood pulled low over his face and casting his features in shadow.

On my right, Itsuka strolled with an easy confidence, her hands clasped lightly behind her back as she hummed a tune under her breath.

She had always had this uncanny knack for making the most rigid, formal settings feel like a casual stroll through the woods.

And then there was me, caught between the two of them, desperately trying to keep my thoughts from spiraling into chaos.

And what's worse is that my mind was lost in a storm of thoughts—each annoying one swirling around the previous day's events and just how much I've managed to fuck up already.

So today's mission: throw Itsuka at the Prince.

If said Lady wasn't walking directly next to me right now, I'd probably be rubbing my hands together like some cliche-cartoon villain scheming.

Unfortunately, I had to settle for subtle glances toward her as I mentally mapped out how to make this plan work without the Lady getting suspicious..

Izuku's voice cut through my internal plotting like a knife "Sorry for tagging along."

I blinked and glanced his way, now that I'm paying attention, I guess the Traveler had moved up to walk alongside me—though the hood still hid most of his expression "You don't have to apologize, I kind of just figured you'd stay at the castle."

"I would've," Izuku admitted with a half-shrug "But I don't think I'll stay just to get chased around until Todoroki comes back."

"Fair point." A snicker broke free from my lips.

The three of us stepped out into the grand foyer— Sunlight spilled in through the towering stained-glass windows, casting shimmering rainbows onto the floor.

The murmur of voices reached us from the courtyard beyond—a mix of laughter and polite conversation that felt painfully at odds with my mood.

In my peripheral, I caught that viridescent gaze sweep across the courtyard—where the Ladies, chancellor and Prince were still thankfully preparing to leave.

My attention flickered off to what he was looking at and as per-usual, his Highness stood surrounded by the group—light chatter bounding through the air while I could take notice of the way Lady Daki was leaning into his arm, gaging his attention.

The Lady from Okinoshima— Sersi, I'm pretty sure? Was on the outer skirts of the conversations, but her eyes flickered up as we approached—blinking towards me with a mixture of curiosity along her features.

And with a glance back at Lady Daki and the Prince, she took a few short steps our way—causing Izuku to lag back a bit as she took the spot at my side, matching our pace.
