—First Person POV.—

While Izuku eased the Prince onto the bed, I paced like a madwoman across my room—heart pounding as panic clamped its icy hand around my chest.

"I don't know what to do—have you ever had to counteract poison before?" I called out—rifling through drawers and mental notes alike.

The Vampire didn't answer right away.

He remained close to the bed, his hand brushing over Shoto's fevered brow with a touch so gentle it made my heart ache—the Prince leaned into that touch instinctively, like a dazed moth drawn to the only light left in the world.

Izuku's viridescent eyes softened at the sight, and so did something in my chest.

And then my eyes trailed down to the bed.

"Wait—" My voice pitched high as a realization smacked me over the head like a bolt of lightning and I sprinted to the bed, flapping my hands at the Traveler.

"Move, move, move!"

Izuku yelped but stumbled back as I shooed him and dropped to my knees—yanking up the bed skirt.

I threw my hand under and dragged the book out like it was sacred—flipping it to glimpse at the cover as Izuku peered over my shoulder.

"What's that?"

My eyes widened as I traced the familiar scrawl on the cover "It's Kinoko's!" I gasped, flipping it open and going through the pages.

"When she was here, she told me she liked to catalogue plants or mushrooms— I don't really remember, but I saw her drawing in this a while ago, so maybe.."

My words cut off the moment my eyes landed on a delicate sketch inked into the parchment.

A flower with drooping petals.

"Angel's Trumpets," I whispered, finger tracing the poisonous bloom. My breath quickened as I turned the page and found more: dangerous flora, each with symptoms listed, and remedies.

Izuku leaned closer—viridescent gaze skimming over the words scrawled out "I think I can find those," He comments, reaching for the book.

I instantly handed it to him "I've gone out the window before, I should be back in a few minutes tops," He added, adjusting the cloak at his shoulders.

I nodded and I pushed myself up from the floor—lashes dipping as I cast my gaze down on the Prince's pale face.

The Traveler at my side started to turn, then paused—he looked back at me, a concerned frown tugging at his lips before he crossed the distance and pulled me into a hug.

I paused in confusion before wrapping my arms around him—then, I felt a light peck against my forehead "Be safe."

Afterwards, he turned to Shoto, brushing the Prince's damp, mismatched bangs aside to kiss his temple.
