—First Person POV.—
Glancing back her way—Daki narrowed her eyes, a mischievous glint dancing in them "Oh, don't worry. I was just going easy." She hums, and I swear I saw her pupils shift into slits for a second.
But I'm not paying attention to that.
No, I'm too busy already reaching for a berry-filled tart as my soon-to-be projectile while she's moving to grab a piece of cake—ready to fight with the delicious food.
She ducks to the side just as I sling my arm forward, releasing the tart into the air and making it smack against the floor where she had previously stood.
And I drop my hand to the tray I'd taken from, quickly lifting it up in front of me as a makeshift shield against the cake thrown my way—the motion made all the remaining desserts fling off at the Lady.
Frosting splattered against the wood—sliding down to slip off as I took a few steps back and reached to the table for another treat.
My hand fell onto what I'd assume to be bread, and I'm only able to grab onto the end of the stick when something suddenly came into contact with my wooden shield— Effectively knocking it from my grasp.
I hear a thunderous clatter as it slams into the ceiling—making my wide eyes snap down in the direction of Daki, who had kept her place crouched low to the ground, but kicked upwards.
There's a few chips that fall from the place my shield is currently embedded in above.
Now, what the fuck.
She brings her leg down, heel slamming onto the side of the table and making it crane sideways—consequently tossing all of the desserts forward and making me jump back to avoid the splash of food.
Keeping my attention forward, that lime gaze glints with malicious amusement, her movements precise and fluid as she stands up—reaching behind her to a table for another pastry of some kind.
"A baguette?" She let's out a breathless laugh in disbelief as I shifted my grip on the stick of bread—holding it out in front of me as if it was a sword
"What, scared of a few carbs?" I catch myself snap back— And wonder why I can't keep my mouth shut when I have to dodge to the side just as a cake goes whizzing over my head and splatters against the far wall.
When I straighten back up, I'm barely given any time to register her next movement before she's already in motion, launching a muffin straight at me.
Acting on instinct, I swing my weapon to the side and whack the muffin off course—sending it flying off into the room before steadying my stance and fixing my gaze forward.
Daki's eyes flash with excitement as she lunges over the fallen table, her nails aimed directly at me.
I raise my baguette just in time, parrying the blow with an audible crunch as her nails sink into the bread.
