—First Person POV.—

The air was cool against my skin as we made our way from the castle wall—my heart still thrumming from the whole escapade of actually getting down from it.

Which was kind of fun in hindsight—since a certain Traveler decided to casually step off the edge, allowing gravity to seize us in her merciless grasp and drag us downward.

Midway, his grip on me shifted—free arm snapping out as inky shadows spilled from his fingers and latched onto the stone behind.

Our descent lurched, the sudden resistance jolting through my bones, and for one horrifying moment—I'm pretty sure my soul had already left me behind.

Good news, I think it was flying upwards this time— Either that, or my lunch was about to say hello.

Anyways, the forest below was a world unto itself—a maze of soft shadows and whispering leaves that welcomed us with open arms.

Dusk had already given way to night, and as we walked, I could hear the distant murmur of music threading its way through the trees.

Every so often, warm speckles of lantern light broke through the canopy—casting golden halos on the forest floor and guiding us toward the village.

I clung to Izuku's side as we navigated this unseen winding path that he seemed to just magically know. Actually, I guess it'd make sense he'd probably venture out to the city whenever he feels like it— It's not like he's bound to stay in the castle.

Speaking of which, I couldn't help but steal glances at the Traveler now and then—his dark eyes fixed ahead and face lit by scattered points of light that seemed to dance along his features like tiny stars.

The amber hues only grew as we made it to the tree line—casting a glossy reflection over his near-obsidian gaze as it flickered down to finally meet mine.

"Are you cold?" His voice, soft and measured, broke through the rustling of leaves.

I blink.

I guess I didn't really notice it, too distracted by the festival ahead and anticipation thrumming in my chest—my eyes cast downwards, running my hands over the goosebumps along my arms.

"A little," I let out a thoughtful hum "But it's not too bad."

Izuku stared at me for a moment before his hands lifted from beneath his cloak—wordlessly unclasping the front and slipping the heavy fabric slipped from his shoulders with a quiet rustle.

I made a point to protest before he draped it over me—and my resolve is quickly broken when its warmth hugs my body.

His hands lingered for a moment, brushing against my collarbone—a stark contrast to the heat of the cloak. The chill of his touch sent a faint shiver down my spine and my brows furrow in concern.
