Third Person POV
Carrera frowned as she shot another cryptid, only for its mangled body to join another fallen cryptid and emerge stronger than before.
"Very persistent." She commented as she sliced at an incoming one, "It makes me think that they are doing this on purpose."
Agera retreated to her side with a small bow, "My apologies, Carrera-sama but I have reached the limits of 'holding back'."
Esprit appeared beside him a moment later, "Same here. These things are just becoming annoying now."
"Testa told us not to lose patience." Carrera grumbled as she shot her gun again, "But this seems almost endless and they give me the creeps. I can't use nuclear magic either if they have <Magic Nullification>."
"Should we have a tactical retreat instead?" Agera suggested, "At this pace, we don't seem to be making much progress unless we do something about their merging."
"That's the last thing I wanna do though." Carrera grumbled with a frown on her face, "Makes me seem like a coward."
"If only we could just blow them away, even for a bit..." Esprit sighed in dismay
"Blow them away..." Carrera repeated before her eyes widened with an idea in her head, "That's it! If we can't blast them directly, then..."
She grinned and pointed at the army in front of them. Before long, a giant nuclear explosion burst from the ground, sending the army flying backward, though not killing any of them.
"The magic doesn't touch them directly, we also get to send them back and they don't get to do that annoying merging!" Carrera explained with the same proud grin on her face, "Those sparring sessions with Feiyun are really worth it!"
"As expected of Carrera-sama!" Esprit cheered in glee, "They never knew what hit them! You really showed them!"
"Hehe!"
Agera sighed heavily at her impulsiveness. It was true that what Carrera unleashed did not directly hit the enemy, which also dampened their <Magic Nullification> ability, but he should have seen this coming, given how his Master didn't like to lose and was impatient. However...
Nuclear magic. I see.
"... Carrera-sama, look!" Esprit gasped as she pointed at the army
Carrera narrowed her eyes as the army seemed to be slowly dissolving, "What the..."
Instead of getting up like she thought they would, the army dissolved into thin air in front of their eyes.
Carrera gaped at the sudden development, "What the hell..."
"I sensed that!" Ultima complained immediately, "I thought we were told to hold back!"
"Carrera, that was uncalled for." Testarossa joined in
Carrera grumbled but quickly changed the topic, "No, wait! Listen to me!"
She explained the situation to them in a hurry while Agera and Esprit moved to investigate the area of disappearance.
"That's troubling..." Testarossa hummed, "Any insight on this, Iris-dono?"
<I'm trying to gather the data right now but the phenomenon is unusual. It is definitely the enemy's plan. Setting off magic was the trigger.>
"Damn! I thought indirectly using magic wouldn't do anything!" Carrera clicked her tongue, "What's the plan now?"
