Rimuru POV
I shut the doors to the private room, further reinforcing it with soundproof barriers so that we could have this 'Walpurgis' meeting without worry. While it is considered a Walpurgis meeting, it was just going to be a short and simple one while everyone else outside were more or less distracted.
"I knew you were kind to a fault but letting Feldway and Michael off the way you did still rubs me the wrong way." Guy stated the moment we sar down, "Are you seriously going to take them in, Rimuru?"
"I have no plans to." I admitted with a small shrug, "Sincerity aside, they still have a lot to learn about the world. They were enclosed in the walls of the Empire for years so letting them explore might give them a peace of mind."
"What about the Heavenly Star Palace?" Dagruel questioned me, "You have Veldanava's original authority over the world so that place should rightfully belong to you too."
"I don't want it." I responded, "I'm letting them keep it. After all, it was the original home for Veldanava and the Primordial Angels, so I want it to stay that way."
Milim raised her hand, "I have something to tell everyone though!"
Guy was skeptical but nodded, "Go ahead."
"I've had a few Angels dropping by my nation these past few months!" Milim began, "It seems like they wanna be my subordinates now that the Great Tenma War is over. Without the control of Feldway and Michael, I think many are beginning to have their own thoughts."
"That's a major change..." Dino stated in shock, "Up until now, none of the minor Angels had developed a trickle of sentience, and it's been thousands of years since then. It took a little long even for me to have one."
"Maybe it's because of the new 'Goddesses'?" Luminas prodded at me, "New emergence like this could have created a mass effect on other species."
"I didn't touch the Angels at all, to be honest." I confirmed, "Rather, maybe the war did open their eyes and allowed them to think for themselves. What was their reason for wanting to join you, Milim?"
"Because I was my Dad's daughter!" Milim kicked her feet under the desk, "I kicked them out because it wasn't a good enough reason though!"
"So in the end, they just wanted someone to rule over them." Leon huffed, "It's true. Without a leader, it might be hard for them to function. With Feldway and Michael stepping down from that position, the next best person would be their Creator's daughter."
"What did you tell them to do when you kicked them out?" I questioned
"I told them the same thing you told Feldway and Michael!" Milim responded proudly, "If they can come back to me with a satisfactory answer after seeing the world in a new light, then I'll accept them as my people!"
"It would be hard to mingle with normal people after thousands of years..." Dino grumbled, "... Was it really okay to let them do whatever they please?"
<I have observed those Angels in question but so far, nothing seems out of the ordinary. I believe they will be returning to Milim with an answer she will be happy with.>
"Since we didn't hear any news or feel anything happening to the other nations, I'd say they are still doing well." I relayed Ciel's words in simpler sentences, "Of course, even though they may not have all the answers yet, I think they will have learned something new by then."
"I thought so too!"
"I highly doubt the more intelligent Feldway and Michael would do the same though." Ramiris stated, "They caused trouble for you guys these past few months, didn't they?"
