An End and A New Beginning

Rimuru POV

The journey back into the Cardinal World had been easy, slipping into the atmosphere after closing the rip that Kevin's Shamash strike caused but rumbling thunder was all I heard from below the clouds.

"What's happening down there, Ciel?" I questioned

<... My analysis has just finished. Oh...>

"What?" I paused mid-flight, "Is it urgent?"

<Quite. Your ascension after inheriting Veldanava's authority has shifted the balance of the Cardinal World thus your direct... descendants are being put on a trial, namely the Primordial Herrschers.>

"A trial?!" I gasped aloud, "Why?!"

"Elysia!"

I turned my head to see Kevin and MEI flying toward me as I reunited with them.

"I'm glad you two are okay!" I sighed in relief before returning to the problem at hand, "What's happening down there?!"

"Veldanava said that because of your ascension, Iris and Feiyun have to go through some kind of 'heavenly trial' to complete a new evolution." MEI explained to me, "To demigods, so to speak. They are supposed to take on a thousand heavenly strikes of lightning but everyone's trying to fend them off as best as they can. Only you can stop it."

I gaped at the information, "Huh?! There's something like that?!"

<Usually those strikes would not do too much damage but this time, they have exerted their strength. Honestly, this should be unnecessary, considering the nature of Herrschers in general but I can tamper with the Heavenly Star Palace now that Master has Veldanava's authority and complete the evolutions for them.>

<Understood!>

In the distance, I watched as the Heavenly Star Palace slowly began to lose its glow and the rumbling beneath the clouds seized to a halt.

<It is done. I will begin their new evolution now and make necessary adjustments.>

"... That should do it." I informed the two, "It should be over now."

Both nodded at me and we flew down to assess the situation as all attention turned toward me, anticipating my news.

I grinned widely at them, "See? Told you I could handle it!"

"Seriously?" Leon stared blankly at me, "You actually defeated that monster?"

"Hehe! He's wiped off from the world permanently!" I declared proudly before rubbing the back of my neck, "But... the wishes from everyone in the world helped a lot. So thank you! I heard it all!"

It was silent for another moment before Veldora burst into motion, sweeping me off my feet in his excitement.

"You did it, Rimuru!"

His shout broke everyone else out of the stupor as Beni and the three Demonesses were the next to gather around me.

"Milady is the best!" Carrera exclaimed happily

Testarossa nodded along, "She truly is the pinnacle."

Ultima giggled childishly, "No one else but Rimuru-sama can make such a great possible!"

"As expected of Rimuru-sama!" Diablo nodded in approval, "I have never once doubted you!"

"But you did have us worried there for a second." Beni admitted with a sigh, "However, when you returned, I realized that all my worries were unfounded."
