Changing the Tides

Third Person POV

Kondou blinked owlishly at the new arrival of Sushang. To be able to freeze over such a large wave was a feat in itself and he wondered briefly if it had been the work of an Ultimate Skill. It only took a little while for him to figure out that it was indeed another Ultimate Skill after a brief use of his <Sandalphon>.

"But which Ultimate Skill was that...?" He wondered as he recalled details from the meeting, "... No way... <Patience King, Gabriel>? It does hold power related to ice due to the Frost Dragon's power but does that mean that this girl also has ice powers?"

"I shall assist, Great Master!" Sushang declared

"What in the world did you do...?" Rita asked as she gazed at the sea where the ice crumbled, "You stopped such a large attack."

Sushang scratched the back of her head, "I don't know. I just felt some weird energy and could suddenly do that."

"Same here." Misteln added

"Well, it's good timing either way. Can you freeze the water to stop Chiyou's attack?" Hua requested

Sushang saluted with a wide grin, "I can try! Just leave it to me!"

"The question is..." Kondou hummed in his thoughts, "... How are they going to do that? The sea is vast so the beast can continue to manipulate the unaffected areas. There's no way they can freeze something as large as that with such inexperience."

As he cycles through his thoughts, he almost fails to notice the constant glance Senti kept on him and belatedly realizes his mistake. If Feiyun originally had the power to read minds then it shouldn't have been a surprise to him that Senti could do the same but he considered her weakened powers and had let his guard down, now he dearly hoped that she didn't read his mind. However, the small grin Senti had on her face after seeing his reaction gave him the answer he needed.

"She found out..."

He was cut off from his thoughts when he caught a certain chill in the air and his eyes widened. Chiyou was now charging up a deadly beam behind its thick shell, ready to blast it at any point in time.

"Isn't this going a little far...?!" Kondou clicked his tongue as he prepared his gun while the girls were getting ready to block it again, "With an inexperienced <Uriel> user, this will-"

"I get it now." Senti suddenly mutters as she moves in front of Chiyou at a certain point-blank distance, "... Doesn't hurt to give it a go."

"Senti?!"

"Are you crazy?! Get out of there!" 'Seele' shouted

"She's being reckless again." Bronya complained with a frown as she prepared to generate a barrier to protect the Herrscher

Mei blinked and quickly stopped Bronya, "Wait! Look...!"

Bronya's eyes widened similarly once she saw what Mei was pointing out and in the next moment, two beams of destruction fired at the same time. One from Chiyou and the other...

"H-Hold on...!" Susannah squeaked in surprise, "Did she copy Chiyou's attack?!"

Vita blinked in her shock as well, "What a surprise..."

Due to the clash, there was a brief shockwave but it was stabilized by Misteln with another <Absolute Defense> deployed to block it before the two canceled each other out. Durandal flew over and caught Senti just as she was thrown back by the recoil of the attacks.

"Are you okay?!"

"Y... Yeah..." Senti replied, shaking away the dizziness from her head, "... Well, that went well."
