they always say to enjoy youth while it lasts.

oh how much did you regret not having fun and being free when in the end, your parents forced you to marry someone who was cold, heartless, and distant.

"I only married you because both of our parents wanted us to."

well thanks for the reminder, Park Jongseong, you thought sarcastically.

it's not like you love him back or something. because that man was the coldest and most distant man you've ever me. hell, even your father wasn't as silent and judging as him. all of the time, Jongseong would be either locked up in his office, away at the company working late-nighters, or on business trips around the world.

but the one thing he liked the most was to ridicule you. he did not dare to touch you or hurt you physically, but he did dare to hurt your heart and mental state instead. but little did he know, that a person's mental state is just as fragile as their physical state. they are both equal, and could be unstable if the person is not treated well.

that night, Jongseong had a party to go and celebrate the recent company promotions and growth. reluctantly, he told you to come with him, knowing that it would be abnormal if he didn't make any public appearances with you as his wife.

"you look horrible in that dress, go change it," Jongseong barked at you, his eyes flaring with impatience and disgust.

you raised your eyebrow with a questioning look, "what do you mean?"

"you're showing too much,"  Jongseong glared again, his judging eyes never leaving yours, as if threatening you to defy him even more.

your dress was not revealing at all. okay, maybe just a little slit at the leg part and cleavage, but it was a long-sleeved dress!

"since when did you have a say in what I wear?" you retorted back, feeling yourself getting more furious by the second.

"I'm your husband, Park Y/N," Jongseong stated sternly.

"you sure as hell act like one," you scoffed, fed up with the whole argument, "I'll go up and change, it's fine."

"this is my wife, Park Y/N," your husband introduced with a smile on his face. oh anyone could see that his smile was fake.

"annyeong," you bowed politely, a fake smile plastered on your face as well. you could feel the stares of the employees and seniors of the company judging you intensely. the female workers glared at you and scoffing while the male workers just nodded their heads nonchalantly in respect.

and then he left your side to go congratulate the new promoted female employees. away from you.

sighing, you expected this.

whatever, just because he was like that, doesn't mean you can just stand here and do nothing. you instantly headed to the drinks table and got yourself some wine.

"you alright?" a man to your left remarked, seeing you chug down the drink in one go.

"yeah," you shrugged.

"I didn't expect Jongseong to have such a beautiful wife like you," the man raised his eyebrow.

"thank you," you bowed your head politely, feeling your cheeks redden a bit.
