Vic's pov

"Morning" Mei mumbled as she opened her eyes and stretched her arms above her head.

"Good morning" I smiled at the sight.

I'd been awake for a while because once I'd gotten back to bed the previous evening, we didn't get up anymore and the shutters were still open, something I wasn't used to since I liked to sleep in pitch dark.

But I really didn't mind being awake if I had Mei peacefully sleeping in my arms, and we both barely had any clothes on.

"Sleep well?" she asked, rubbing her eyes.

"You're so cute" I couldn't help but say as I kissed her. "I did. You?"

"Me too. Sleeping next to my girlfriend probably helped. Or maybe the sex wore us out"

"Could be" I laughed at her ability to make such jokes first thing in the morning. "Did you know you snore?"

"Oh no. You've been awake for a while?"

"Yeah" I chuckled.

"That's embarrassing. Snoring in your face the first night we're officially dating. So romantic, right?"

"It's cute" I reassured her.

"I don't think so. But whatever" she shook her head.

"The snoring wasn't as big as a problem as my fear of getting one of your piercings tangled in my hair"

"What?" she laughed.

"You have lots of piercings, and I have lots of hair"

"I don't have that many. Just two on my nose, one on my eyebrow and four per ear"

"That's more than the average person"

"Okay, whatever" she said after a pause of silence. "We can always cut a strand of your hair off it it gets caught up in one of them"

"Uhm, no thanks?"

"I'm kidding, I know how much you care about your hair" she laughed. "And I love your hair too, so I'll make sure that doesn't happen" she added, kissing the tip of my nose.

"Thanks" I said as I shook my head. "I can make us some breakfast if you want"

"You can cook?" she asked, looking surprised.

"Of course I can" I said, confused at the question.

"El told me you suck at cooking and you once almost burnt the whole house down trying to warm leftovers up"

"That was years ago!" I said, getting defensive. "I've improved. I swear I can make pancakes"

"If you say so" she said. "I make pretty good pancakes, you know. I don't mind doing it"

"Let me try, and you can help me if I feel like I'm about to burn the house down"

"Fine" she chuckled. "Do you have plans today?"

"Nothing specific, but I'll definitely go back to Ellie's place. I'm leaving tomorrow and I have no idea when I'll be able to see her again. Maybe we have some news to break to her too"

"Yeah, I'll come along. Do you think she'll be upset about us or anything? I hope not"

"She most likely already suspects something was going on between us, so don't worry" I said, squeezing her hand in reassurance. "We should get up now"

"Five more minutes?" Mei jokingly pouted, wrapping her arms over my shoulders.

"Fine" I giggled, kissing the pout away.
