Later that evening, I came home to find Travis in the kitchen, the delicious smell of pasta filling the air.
"What are you making?" I asked, leaning against the counter.
"Just some pasta." he replied, smiling.
"Want to help?"
"Sure."
I grabbed an apron, and we chopped vegetables and stirred the sauce, laughing and joking as we cooked.
At one point, I flicked some flour at him, and he playfully smeared sauce on my cheek.
"Hey!" I exclaimed, giggling as I tried to dodge him.
He chased me around the kitchen and finally caught me, wrapping his arms around my waist. We stood close, breathing heavily when Tiffany's voice sliced through the moment.
"I see you're having a great time after leaving me all alone in the room." she said, standing in the doorway, eyes narrowed.
"Why didn't you wait for me?" Travis asks, but she stepped closer and kissed him.
A pang of jealousy hit me, but I tried to hide it.
"I'll just... go set the table," I muttered, turning away. Their laughter followed me, and it stung that Travis didn't stop me from leaving. It was clear not, that he only saw me as a friend.
Sitting at the dining table, I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the feeling. Why did it bother me so much?
After a few minutes, Tiffany joined me, her expression smug.
"You know, Travis is really good in the kitchen. And in other places too"
I clenched my fists.
"I'm sure he is."
Why did I even utter that?
"Do you want to hear all about it?" she laughed mockingly.
I shot her a glare.
"That make-out session you had with Travis? Just a mistake," she continued, leaning in.
"He said you were a bad kisser and regretted it. He even washed his mouth afterward."
Her words hit hard. I couldn't believe Travis had said that. My anger boiled over, and when Travis joined us, I glared at him.
During dinner, Tiffany did everything to make me jealous-feeding Travis and laughing at his jokes. To make matters worse, he seemed to enjoy it. I wasn't paying attention to my food and choked.
Travis offered me water, but I pushed it away and stormed out.

Lying in bed, I replayed Tiffany's words over and over. The thought of Travis saying those things kept me awake.
I was so mad that I had to check my breath, it smelled fine, but humiliation lingered. Frustrated, I went outside to the pool.
The cool water cools me down a bit, and I swam furiously, trying to drown out my thoughts. Eventually, I sat at the edge of the pool, breathing heavily, then I heard Travis's voice.
"That's enough, Luna. You've been at it for a while."
"How long have you been there?"
"For a while." he admitted, offering his hand.
"It's not good to swim too much."
Ignoring him, I dove back in. He sat on a lounge chair, watching me.
"Why did you leave dinner? You clearly didn't had enough."
I kept swimming, pretending not to hear.
He sighed, and I could feel his eyes on me for a while before he spoke up again.
"Tiffany is here because she and her mom had a fight. She had nowhere else to go."
I remained silent, focused on my strokes.
After a while, I got out of the pool and walked towards him, dripping wet. He looked concerned.
"What's wrong, Luna? Did I do something-"
Before he could finish, I straddled his lap, facing him, and kissed him hard. It was impulsive, driven by the sting of Tiffany's words about my breath.
I didn't know what got into me. As he kissed me back, it felt right until he began to deepen it.
I pulled away, smirking.
"So, am I really a bad kisser? Does my breath stink?"
Travis looked shocked.
"What are you talking about?"
I waited for an answer, my heart pounding.
"Luna, I swear I never said any of that. Tiffany made it all up. You're the best person I've ever kissed. I could kiss you all day."
He pulled me closer like he was trying to kiss me to prove what he said.
Still not convinced, I pushed him away and got up.
"No, Travis. I don't need you to prove anything." My voice shook as I turned and walked away, leaving him sitting there alone.

This chapter is so fucking small, and I know that, it's just one scene which is not supposed to be.
I haven't been able to update in a while and I'm so sorry for that.
As usual, I'll try and update more frequently.
