The next morning, I woke up with a determination to push aside the events of the previous night.
Today was an outing with Kyle, and I wanted to make the most of it. I dressed casually but nicely, wanting to look my best for him.
If not for him, I know within myself I was dressing to kill the anger I was feeling against that dick.
Kyle arrived promptly after I step out of the house, greeting me with a warm hug and a kiss.
"Ready for our adventure?" he asked, smiling.
"You bet I am." I replied, trying to put on my best cheerful face.
We started our day with a visit to a nearby park, walking hand in hand along the paths lined with blooming flowers. We talked about everything and nothing, just enjoying each other's company.
Kyle surprised me with a picnic basket, and we found a secluded spot under a large oak tree to spread out a blanket and enjoy our meal.
"When are your parents coming back?" He ask, after taking a break from eating.
I sighed.
"I don't know. I miss them so much, I can't wait for them to get me back home."
Kyle reached out and squeezed my hand.
"It must be tough. Is it comfortable living with Travis alone?"
Did I just made it obvious?
I chuckled.
"You have nothing to worry about." I didn't want him to worry.
Kyle nodded, but his face said otherwise.
"Are you jealous?" I teased, poking him playfully.
Kyle denied it quickly, but his blush gave him away.
I laughed and held his face, kissing him softly.
"You have nothing to worry about, nothing is ever going to change with me and Travis."
He finally smiled, truly believing me. Now I'm desperate to keep my promise, terrified of breaking that trust and losing him.
We enjoyed our picnic, feeding each other bits of fruit and laughing at our silly jokes.
Afterward, we decided to rent bikes and explore the trails around the park. I hadn't ridden a bike in years, but I quickly got the hang of it again. We raced each other, laughing and joking the whole time.
The exercise and fresh air helped clear my mind, and I found myself genuinely enjoying the moment.

"Hey, you up for some games?" Kyle asks, grabbing my hand and spinning me around to face a nearby arcade.
Exactly what I needed.
"Definitely." I replied, excited for something new.
I hadn't been to an arcade since I was little. Mum and Dad took me to one on my fourth birthday. I insisted on riding the merry-go-round, but they didn't let me. I got upset, crying loudly, and we had to leave early. People thought they'd kidnapped me! Not my fault, I was just excited.
We played games, trying to outdo each other in air hockey and shooting games.
Kyle won a giant stuffed bear in a claw machine and gave it to me, and I hugged it tightly, feeling a surge of affection for him.
