I couldn't help but feel nervous waking up this morning.
Some time had passed since the little shopping expedition with Yae and the day of the party had finally arrived.
The maids stood fussing over me as I sat before the vanity.
"No no!" One of the maids shook her head, "That style doesnt work... try this instead..."
She yanked the brush away from the other maid and began to comb through my hair.
The other maid stood with her arms crossed looking unimpressed.
"Shes a princess! Not a noble! Don't put it up that way!" The other maid voiced her concerns but was brushed off.
"You think a noble would have their hair this way? Please! No one can match my technique."
I sighed as the women continued to fight over which was the best way. This was why I had preferred to do things myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull off the same kind of fancy looking styles that they could. Ayato would not be pleased if I showed up looking like a mess.
As the ladies continued to argue over what was better there was a knock at the door.
The maids stopped fighting for a minute and looked over at the door.
"Come in." I called out.
The door to my room opened and my eyes lit up.
"Uncle!"
Ayato gave a gentle smile and he nodded in greeting to the ladies.
"Hello Y/N. Excuse us a moment will you?" He asked kindly to the maids.
They both shook their heads.
"Of course your highness! Excuse us!" The ladies took their leave and as they left Ayato came closer.
"You look wonderful Y/N. How are you feeling?"
I took in a small breath and turned to face Ayato in my spot.
"A little nervous... theres going to be a lot of people right?"
Ayato nodded, "Yes. This is a special occasion after all but theres no need to worry you'll have Capitano, and Yae will be attending as well."
