As I joined the rest of the avengers to greet Shuri in the lawn of the compound a day layer, I tried my best to calm my anxiety over knowing what was coming next that hadn't seemed to leave my mind ever since the thought had made its way into my subconsciousness. The girl was just as sweet and friendly as she had been in the movies, and was more than willing to start working on a way to get the stone out of Vision without harming the man at all. She was fascinated by my story and learning about where I had come from—unable to stop asking me question about my world as Tony took her on the tour of the compound which was the only thing Shuri had asked for in return to helping Vision. "Did it hurt? When you quite literally threw yourself through space, time and maybe even universes? What did it feel like?"
I smiled, finding the girls enthusiasm endearing. "Not at all—I didn't even know I was not in my bedroom until I woke up and realised my room didn't look right. I... I have no idea how I ended up here—I mean I know I was watching some stuff to do with the avengers before I went to bed and was thinking about stuff related to Marvel... but I don't know when I really switched worlds. It could have been as I went to bed, sometime in the middle of the night, or when I woke up, and I wouldn't know the difference. I would have been a lot more excited about finding myself here if I wasn't so worried about what my parents back home were thinking."
The tour went on for a good half an hour, and I realised that there were a lot of things that even I had never had a chance to see around the avengers tower and compound even though I'd been living there for basically two weeks by now, sop I quite enjoyed going around with Shuri and Tony. Once he had gone through the whole building, he led us back down to the lab where most of the other avengers had gathered in wait for us to return. Vision was standing in the middle of the room, and Shuri walked up to him, seemingly entranced by the little yellow stone embedded in his head. She stopped within reach of it, looking as if she was restraining herself from extending her hand out to touch the infinity stone as she squinted at it. "Interesting... very interesting indeed. Yes, I can most likely find a way around this—Mister Vision should be perfectly fine even after the procedure is complete. But unfortunately I do not think I will be able to perform the procedure over here. It will have to be done back in Wakanda—there is just no way I could bring all the equipment needed for it over here. Is that alright?"
Before anyone else could reply, Vision help a hand up. "Yes, that would work perfectly. If nothing else, I will go there alone and get this done as soon as possible—the sooner the stone is removed from me and destroyed, the less chances there are of Thanos being able to succeed in his plan."
Wanda walked up to his side and gently placed her hand on his arm, making the man turn to face her. "I will be there with you as well, Vis. Don't worry. Besides, according to Elaina, I am the one who has to destroy the stone, so it only makes sense I stick with you to make sure nothing goes wrong once it has been removed." It was almost too sweet to watch the two of them slowly get closer by the day—I did realise that their relationship was definitely progressing a lot faster than it had in the movies, but what wasn't? I was just glad it gave the two of them a few extra good years of peace this time round.
After another few minutes of discussion, it was decided that Shuri would go back to Wakanda and start working on something to get the stone out of Vision's head as quickly as possible, getting back to us in a weeks time no matter how much progress she had done. Vision and Wanda would be joining her in Wakanda then. If she had managed to crack the code and find a way to get it out by then... great! If she hadn't, having Vision in Wakanda and being able to have the Mind stone right there to look at and study in person if needed would only help her get it done sooner. I joined the other avengers in seeing the girl off as she walked out of the compound and back to the very high tech looking space-ship kind of vehicle she'd arrived in—the thing taking off a few minutes later as Shuri stuck her head out of one of the windows and waved goodbye to us from it.
