We talked for a while longer, and strangely, even though I knew I had never met the two people in front of me before, it felt like I was really talking to my parents for the first time. It felt like they were really understanding me. Once we had gotten over the hurdle of me convincing them that any of my actions six years ago really hadn't been their fault, a plan started forming in my mind. Was it stupid? Sure. Was I still planning to do it? Well...

"Sweetie, you have to go back, don't you?" I looked back up to see my mother watching me sadly, a knowing look in her eyes even though she was smiling.

I sighed, "I-I wish I could stay, but if there is a way home... is it fair to leave my- I mean, you guys, in the other universe, alone? If I stay here... they'll never know what happened to me—just that I vanished one day. I was out at a club... they'll have the police out looking for me." I couldn't stand the pained expressions on my parents faces, "But... hey, I have no clue how I got here—and no idea how to get back, so... you guys are stuck with me living here for a while more, at least."

My father stood up from where he had been sitting, placing a hand on my shoulder as he walked by my chair. "Ellie, its alright. We understand you need to go back, I'm just grateful we got to speak to you again. Just... p-please say goodbye before you go, okay?"

I nodded, fighting back the tears that were threatening to spill from my eyes at the thought of leaving these people alone again. "I wouldn't dream of having it any other way. But there are a few things I have to do before I go... I'm going to need you guys to trust me."

Less than an hour later, after picking out a pair of black jeans and a mint green top which both thankfully still fit me, I was walking out of our front door, slightly wet hair from my bath up in a ponytail as I took in my surroundings. It wasn't very different, especially since I'd lived this before, but it did take a bit to get used to walking around the setting of my life six years ago.

Right... now how in the world was one meant to go about searching for superheroes who weren't meant to actually exist? Was I just meant to start asking people for directions to the avengers tower or something? I paused only a few steps later. Did the avengers tower even exist yet? Where were we in the timeline? Two years after the battle of new york... so sometime after Iron Man 3, but before Age Of Ultron. So The Winter Soldier? It sounded about right.

If I managed to find the avengers... what would I even say? Could I tell them I was basically from the future and knew exactly how each one of their lives played out? Would they think I was bluffing, that I was Hydra or something? Or would they believe me and try force all the information I had out of me?

I pressed the cool palms of my hands into my eyes, trying to block out the world for a few seconds as I composed my thoughts to me best ability. If the Winter Soldier was currently playing out, only Steve and Natasha's whereabouts were available... so I would have to get to one of them to be able to find the rest of the avengers anytime soon, which meant taking a three hour train to Washington DC on a whim. Laughing at how stupid this whole situation seemed, I started moving down a close by street towards the train station. And around three and a half hours later I was catching a taxi to the closest and biggest hospital to the train station. I remembered passing by the place multiple times, wondering if that was where some of the Marvel scenes were filmed. Now I had to wonder if that was where Nick Fury was currently fake dying.

Paying for the taxi distractedly, I quickly made my way into the main reception of the building, the clear 'hospital' smell of the place immediately hitting me, sending a shiver down my spine—it didn't bring back any pleasant memories, to say the least. "Hello, uh, I was wondering if a Nick Fury was admitted here a while ago? Or like... just a bit ago?" I asked, it becoming painfully evident I had no idea how to socialise very quickly as I stumbled over my words.
