The next few days were even more chaotic than the weeks leading up to the battle of Wakanda if that was possible—the whole team working on nothing but helping Tony, Bruce and Rocket work on all the time travel stuff. I didn't really understand the half of what they were doing, but I had no problems helping pass things around when they asked for them, especially since it helped keep my mind off all the people who had been lost. I'd tried calling my parents multiple times since we arrived back at the compound, but it became very clear very quickly that neither of the two had survived the snap, which in some strange way was calming, since I knew that meant at least I didn't have to worry about them worrying about me—at least until we got them back.
Within the next two days, Tony had gotten his time travel GPS thing completely functional and ready for use, meaning we were ready to start working on the time travel suits. It felt like it had hardly been another day by the time we were ready to run the first test with the only two extra Pym particle vials, and as per the movies, Clint was the one standing standing in the center of the huge platform Tony and the others had built, in one of the red and white suits that gave me flashbacks to stuff in the movies that I very much did not wish to remember. "Alright, Clint. We're going in three... two... one." Bruce switched whatever he had to on the control board, and the while team stood around anxiously as Clint vanished. My leg seemed to have a mind of its own as it bounced up and down as I bit my lip, the next few seconds feeling like forever as we all stood there, silent in the anticipation of what was going to happen next.
To my relief, Clint appeared right back where he had vanished from a few seconds later, but this time instead of seeming heartbroken after having just lost the chance to speak with his family, he just looked happy that it had worked, since it had barely been any time since he'd actually lost them, and because he had actually had time to know and come to terms with what was going to happen before the snap took place. For a while, I had thought that there was a chance he wouldn't even be part of our time heist this time around since he hadn't gone on his whole... vengeance trip, but Natasha had managed to convince him to join us for this mission pretty easily, and I got the feeling that even though I had thought differently, Clint didn't want to be home when he had no one there with him, and that he would rather be with us helping get them back than sit around being depressed or something. "It worked... it worked." The whole room mirrored the man's smile as he threw his mask over to Tony.
I sighed, knowing that it was my time to have a conversation with the group, even though I didn't feel like having to talk as much as I knew I would have to once we started planning. Nonetheless, it was necessary, and so I gathered the whole group in one of the meeting rooms a few minutes later, asking Tony to help pull up the information we would be needing on all the infinity stones. I nearly felt my whole moth dry up when I saw all the avengers watching me as I stood at the head of the table in front of all the information that had been found, and the whole situation for some reason reminded me of my first day here. It was funny to think that I had most likely been a lot more confident that day than I was in the moment, but I knew I had to steak talking. "Alright, so now that we know the how works, we have to figure out the when. It's pretty simple if we have to go by the movies, and just follow where and how you guys went about getting the stones... but I think we can do better this time. I mean, we're not going after the Tesseract in the battle of new york, as that... that doesn't end well at all. No, we know that there were at least four out of the six stones together being kept on Asgard not long ago, so thats definitely one stop. Which... which only leaves the Mind and Soul stone." I finished, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth at the thought of what I knew to happen on the mission for the latter. "I... don't know exactly how all this time travel stuff works, but even though you guys took the Mind stone from Loki's scepter back in 2012, Vision... seemed to still get created in the future, which is all I was waiting for when it came to the Mind stone, which means... we could just go back a tad and grab it from the avengers compound itself—just not 2012."
