If I had been annoyed with Loki before we had arrived at the rink, seeing him basically float around the ice as I stumbled about like a new born duck only made me want to skate up to the man and trip him, but I really couldn't help enjoy myself watching everyone around me, and as much as I didn't want to say it, seeing Loki skating around with a smile on his face made me basically unable to be upset at the man. After all, there really was no point trying to compete with a god with it came to... well, basically anything. And besides, I'd come here to show him what ice skating was all about anyway, I wanted him to have a good time.
I spent the first half an hour or so just getting my footing on the ice, as I realised it had been a good few years since I had visited a rink myself. I'd never been too great at ice staking, but I still enjoyed it and could at least move around the area without falling every few seconds, which was enough for me. Of course, Loki decided that since he'd found something he was clearly a lot better at than he, he would take every opportunity he could to gloat about it—skating around me at times with a smirk on his face before speeding off immediately after. I couldn't help notice that Loki looked... decent in such normal clothes. They suited him very well, I could tell—but I knew that was the only reason I was watching him. I mean, of course he looked good—he was a bloody god, it wasn't strange to think that. Right?
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Loki once again was by my side, and I realised he was holding his hand out to me. Confused as to what he was doing, I let him take my hand and almost immediately screamed as he pulled us both around the ice. I had to slap a hand over my mouth to stop myself from showing my surprise, but that didn't stop me from glaring at Loki as he grinned at my shock. The sudden moment had made me lose balance for a second, but Loki had tightly gripped hold of my hand by now. I let go of him the second we slowed, turning on him as best as I could while also trying not to slip. "Now why in the world would you do that!?" I asked, but now that I didn't feel like I was fighting for my life, I realised I had quite enjoyed the rush of going so fast.
Loki was still smiling as he moved a bit back from where I was standing, shrugging before skating to fall into pace with me on my other side, more gracefully that I ever could have done myself. "Don't tell me you didn't enjoy that—even the slightest amount. I am... familiar with ice in ways most Midgardians would never even dream possible. I merely thought you would like to feel even just a glimpse of true 'ice skating' as you call it." I realised that people around us were indeed watching Loki for some reason, and I suddenly got suspicious of what he had done to make that happen, as usually no one really cared about anyone else around at a place like this unless they had done something... noticeable.
"Loki, how fast exactly were we going?" We were very much on the other side of the pretty big rink than where we had started, and I was getting worried about what Loki had done a few seconds before.
The god simply shrugged. "We were going at a decently fast speed. But don't worry, the Midgardians around won't think much of it—they're used to seeing strange things on the daily, I am sure. Would you like to do that again?" When all he received from me was a glare that ended with me unable to contain a small smile, he sighed, but seemed to be content with my answer. "Very well then, I'll stick to the boring normal style you are used to if that is what you wish, Miss Deove. I must admit, though, I understand why you mortals take plesure in doing this. It's quite enjoyable." We spent the next hour or so skating around together, and I actually managed to not fall even once the whole time—which probably wasn't something to be proud of, but I still was. We raced each other down the rink near the end of our time there, and of course Loki won, even though I had made him promise to use normal human speed during it. I still enjoyed it, though.
I was shivering as we got out of the rink, and envied Loki's ability to not even be feeling the slightest but cold in that moment. Luckily, I had a warm car to run back to and put the heating on as soon as we were back on the road. Overall, I'd say it was a successful trip, and we had passed another day with nothing to do, which was a plus in my eyes. I knew we couldn't just spent every day watching television in the compound, even though that was exactly what Loki and I did once we got back to the building, changed and grabbed some takeout dinner. Introducing Loki to noodles, and really just any very normal food items which he had never heard of in general, was one of my favourite things to do. His reaction to the takeout noodles I had ordered for us that night as we sat down to un-pause Suits in the living room was priceless. "Do Midgardians really eat these... these strings for food? How could you ever... oh. Oh, they-they're not terrible." He ended up loving them, as I had guessed. I mean, who couldn't enjoy a box of hot noodles?
