Director Li looked at Yang Qiong and said, "Teacher Yang teaches physical education. I saw your file, you were a soldier before, right?"

Yang Qiong nodded. "Special forces."

"No wonder you could directly transfer to a school. Even though we are short on staff now, it's not easy to get into the school. How about you teach sixth grade?" Director Li asked.

Although Yang Qiong was a modern person, she had no concept of elementary school anymore, just like Shen Qiuhua. Teaching for a few years would be the same. "Sure."

"Alright then. But our school is small with fewer students, so you might have to teach a few other subjects as well. Come on, let's find someone to arrange your office." Director Li led the two to the general affairs office next door. "Old Xu, we have some newcomers."

Director Xu of the general affairs office was a man in his fifties, mainly responsible for the school's various logistical support work. After a few words, even Shen Qiuhua noticed that Xu was quite friendly and could chat with anyone whether there was something to talk about or not.

Director Xu first took Shen Qiuhua to the office of the upper-grade Chinese language group on the second floor. The Chinese language group was large, hence divided into upper and lower-grade sections. There were six teachers in the upper-grade group, and one was currently on maternity leave, so Shen Qiuhua temporarily occupied her position.

"You can sit here for now. I'll adjust it once she returns," Xu said after introducing everyone.

Shen Qiuhua nodded. The office was filled with female teachers, which made her feel more at ease. Although places with many women often had more gossip, how could she, coming from a background of court intrigue, fear such things?

Yang Qiong's PE group office was on the first floor. Compared to the Chinese group, the PE group was noticeably quieter, with only four teachers in total. Director Xu called out, and the only male teacher in the PE group went with him to move desks.

They moved a set of office desks and chairs from the storage room. While the furniture was not brand new, they weren't too old either. Yang Qiong's mind wasn't on this, so she cheerfully said thank you. Two female teachers in her group, one surnamed Xie and the other Bai were very eager to bring water and clothes to help clean the desks and chairs. Yang Qiong wouldn't let them do the work and took the clothes to clean herself.

"Let's leave it at that for now. If you and Xiao Shen need anything in the future, come find me. I'm off now," Director Xu said before leaving.

While Yang Qiong was cleaning, she chatted with her three colleagues for a bit. True to the role of a PE teacher, Teacher Xie was taller than Yang Qiong. She had previously been a professional long-distance runner but didn't achieve much in her career, so retired and became a teacher here. Teacher Bai and the male teacher surnamed Duan graduated from the sports department of a teacher training college.

The three were very interested when they heard Yang Qiong was a special forces soldier. "Shouldn't special forces officers have better units to go to? Why come to be a teacher?"

Yang Qiong smiled, "Teaching isn't bad either."

They exchanged glances, and Teacher Xie sighed, "Young people... You'll understand after a few years of working."

After some casual chatting, Yang Qiong began to feel uneasy about Shen Qiuhua. Ever since returning from ancient times, Shen Qiuhua hadn't been out of Yang Qiong's sight for more than ten minutes. Now... glancing at her watch, it had been almost twenty minutes.

Shen Qiuhua sat at her desk with a slight smile on her face. The other five teachers in the group were very friendly, chatting with her and sizing her up. She was different from Yang Qiong. Her appearance was quite attractive.
