Secretary Li's mouth continued to twitch. He found both of them rather daunting. One was always talking nonsense, and the other was meticulous to the point of being a headache.
"Boss, what do you think..."
"If she doesn't want it, there's nothing we can do," Zheng Dongheng sighed. "A forced opportunity is never sweet! Keep an eye on her. If she truly doesn't want this path, then fine. But if she does, she must follow the path we lay out for her."
"Understood."
At a small roadside eatery, the two sat with bowls of zha jiang mian (fried sauce noodles), eating and chatting.
"I'm having second thoughts about signing that contract with the studio."
"It's rare for you to want to do something. Just have fun with it. Don't worry, I'm here for you. If there's any trouble, I'll help you handle it," Yang Qiong said, slurping a noodle.
"I'm glad you're by my side."
The weather had been scorching lately. On the weekend, Yang Qiong was rummaging through summer clothes at home. Shen Qiuhua, unable to tolerate Yang Qiong's rough handling, came over to help.
"Ah, no need. I can find them myself," Yang Qiong insisted on doing it herself. She believed a wife should be pampered, and a husband should do the hard work.
"Let me handle it. As your wife, I must do these things." Shen Qiuhua pulled Yang Qiong aside and began folding the clothes Yang Qiong had pulled out, neatly arranging them. She then opened the box on top of the wardrobe, took out the summer clothes, and hung them up on hangers.
Yang Qiong felt touched. After all these years alone, someone finally cared about her.
Sunlight streamed in, making the room bright. A beautiful woman stood there, looking back at her. Yang Qiong thought, what more could she ask for in life?
"Qiuhua, thank you," Yang Qiong said, hugging her smiling lover and resting her head on her shoulder.
"You have many things you can't let go of, I know. Yang Qiong, in front of me, you don't need to hide anything. No matter what happens in life, I will never leave you," Shen Qiuhua said. As long as she could be with Yang Qiong, she wouldn't care about anything else.
Others always thought such a beautiful woman should have better conditions, more money, and a higher status. However, Shen Qiuhua had all of this in her past life. Behind the glamour, there was only desolation. Only Yang Qiong cherished and cared for her, never abandoning her. If you treat me with sincerity, I will reciprocate with my entire heart.
Among the splendor, none of it was her wish. She only wished for a life where they supported each other and grew old together.
Yang Qiong felt very happy. This happiness was a sensation of warmth and sweetness filling her chest. Even she, who was usually so unserious, found herself at a loss for words.
At this moment, Yang Qiong's phone suddenly rang. It was from Sister Mai. To avoid disturbing Shen Qiuhua, all external contacts were handled by Yang Qiong, so Sister Mai had her phone number.
Sister Mai called them to come and see the finished album. The photo book was ready. The two went to the studio and saw that all the sample photos originally on the walls had been replaced with Shen Qiuhua's pictures.
"So many pictures of Qiuhua, how wonderful!" Yang Qiong touched her chin and looked at them one by one, growing more fond of them, wishing she could take them all home.
"Can you act a bit more mature?" Shen Qiuhua pulled her arm and entered the studio.
The entrance was no longer as quiet as it had been when they first arrived. Wang Ling was recommending themes to several people and greeted them loudly as they walked in.
