Qiu Yuanxin and Zhang Hao were knocked out by the people around them. As for the man, a hand strike from Li Enyi's subordinate failed to render him unconscious. Shen Qiuhua turned to look at him and, upon recognizing him, exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Ouyang!"
The man seemed to regain some clarity. He looked at Shen Qiuhua, his gaze gradually clearing. "Your Highness?"
Even Shen Qiuhua, who was usually unflappable, could hardly believe what she was seeing. Who was this? It was Ouyang Ting! Although his appearance had changed, his eyes remained the same as in the previous life—steadfast and calm.
Shen Qiuhua nodded vigorously and told Li Enyi's men, "This person is my friend. Please let him go."
Li Enyi's subordinates were hesitant and uncertain.
Shen Qiuhua looked at the man and said firmly, "It will be fine. I trust him."
Hearing this, the men had no further objections and released him before leaving.
The man then saw Yang Qiong lying on the ground. He knew that the injuries on Yang Qiong were his doing, but it wasn't the time for regret or self-reproach. He approached Yang Qiong, pressing a few critical acupoints to stop the bleeding.
"This will at least buy her time to make it to the hospital."
Shen Qiuhua nodded excitedly. "Thank you, Brother Ouyang."
Ouyang Ting gave a wry smile. "Her injuries were caused by me. I hope Your Highness doesn't blame me."
"I know it wasn't your intention. You would never deliberately harm Qing Ye," Shen Qiuhua said, cradling Yang Qiong's head. "Yang Qiong, it's going to be alright. Everything is over now, and you will survive." She gently stroked Yang Qiong's lips, which were losing their color. "I am here, by your side. Can you hear me?"
When Yang Qiong woke up, all she saw was white. The distinctive smell of the hospital made her frown.
"Frowning the moment you wake up—are your injuries hurting?" A familiar voice spoke nearby. Shen Qiuhua smiled as she said this.
Yang Qiong smiled back, moving her lips with effort to say, "It's so good to see you."
Shen Qiuhua reached out and took her hand, the sunlight illuminating her gentle smile. "Yes, I feel the same way."
Yang Qiong had lost a lot of blood but didn't have any other serious injuries. During her hospital stay, she learned from Shen Qiuhua about how she was rescued. Thanks to Zhao Shu's help, she was able to survive long enough to reach the hospital.
Zhao Shu was Ouyang Ting's name in this life. That day, he had fully recovered his memories from the previous life.
"What's his story?" Yang Qiong still couldn't understand how he got entangled with Liu Yuanming.
"His wife is ill and urgently needs money," Shen Qiuhua said with a smile in her eyes.
Yang Qiong found it strange. "Who is his wife? It couldn't be..." Her eyes widened when she saw Shen Qiuhua nod. "It couldn't be that outrageous, right?"
"I find it unbelievable too. But it is indeed Sister Zhou. She is in this hospital as well, and you'll believe it once you see her." Zhao Shu's wife in this life was indeed Zhou Yunxue. Although they had different appearances and one had lost their memories from the past life while the other retained them, it was evident that destiny had brought them together once again.
Liu Yuanming was arrested the day after Yang Qiong was rescued. Zhao Shu, being Liu Yuanming's accomplice, remained in custody. Despite his martial skills making escape easy, he had no intention of doing so. In the previous life, he was an enforcer, but in this life, he was a lawbreaker. Fate had played its hand, but he had no regrets.
