Shen Qiuhua picked up her teacup and sipped it slowly. After a quarter of an hour, she set the cup down and stood up, issuing a series of commands.
As a bodyguard, Yang Qiong only needed to focus on Shen Qiuhua. Watching her systematically make plans and seeing Secretary Xiao Zhang frantically writing, Yang Qiong noticed the occasional cunning glint in her eyes that didn't escape her notice.
"Do you have to be so ruthless?" After Xiao Zhang left, the office temporarily quieted down. Yang Qiong embraced the woman from behind. "If you do this, they won't even get the originally agreed price."
"Greed will only lead to downfall. Businesspeople value profit over promises, it's a lesson they deserve." Shen Qiuhua, with her deep-seated disdain for merchants, was only helping Li Enyi to repay him for saving Yang Qiong.
The contract was finally signed, with a price reduced by ten percent compared to before. Even Li Enyi frowned slightly at this approach. "Miss Shen, your decisiveness is unexpected. However, such a ruthless style might not fare well in business."
Shen Qiuhua had considered the consequences of cutting off their financial sources. She glanced back at Yang Qiong, who maintained her ever-present smile.
"Mr. Li, I understand that good business practice involves harmony. However, if you want to build your own business empire, it's best to balance both kindness and authority. I'm establishing authority, so you can extend kindness," Shen Qiuhua, having learned from her father, was well-versed in governance.
Li Enyi understood this principle, but he was puzzled. "Doesn't this mean all the blame will fall on Miss Shen?"
Shen Qiuhua smiled casually. "What's the difference? Yuanshan is your business. I'm just a helper. I don't care how people in the business world view me. You're the one who will deal with them."
With such a self-sacrificing assistant, Li Enyi didn't feel any joy. The implication in Shen Qiuhua's words was clear—she was merely a temporary helper and would eventually leave, and she couldn't be kept.
On the weekend, at the teahouse.
Old Li watched as Shen Qiuhua poured tea for him and asked with a smile, "Miss Shen, after working at Yuanshan for a while, how do you feel?"
Shen Qiuhua smiled. "Old Li, to be honest, you really shouldn't speak like that."
Old Li seemed disheartened upon hearing this. Clearing his throat, he lost his smile and adopted a deep, inscrutable demeanor. "Girl, to be honest, I didn't expect you to join Yuanshan."
"You overestimate me. Yuanshan is great."
"But no matter how good it is, it won't keep you." Old Li had heard from his grandson about the situation. He wasn't here to persuade her. "From the first time I met you, I found it strange—what kind of family could produce a child like you? You seem to have many aspirations, yet sometimes you appear to desire nothing at all."
Shen Qiuhua sipped her tea. "Old Li, you have great wisdom. I'm just an ordinary person with small wishes. If they can be fulfilled, I'm already very happy."
Old Li shook his head. "That's not honest." He tapped the table. "Anyone can claim to be ordinary, but you can't. Girl, I've lived for decades, and your demeanor is so unique that it indicates you're not an ordinary person."
Shen Qiuhua was about to explain, but Old Li continued, "You don't need to explain. I'm not here to investigate you. Regardless of who you are, I consider you a friend. At my age, there aren't many people I can call friends."
"Thank you for your kindness." Shen Qiuhua remained composed, like a spring breeze.
After leaving the teahouse, Yang Qiong approached and asked, "Was the old man here to persuade you?"
